good hear rumours with names like mata and srna ... it will be a long season, with lots of cups to be competed for ... a larger squad will be a must to compete on all fronts again, and quality competition for the various positions will be a healthy addition to prevent stagnation from setting in ...

the robinho possibility is a joke (even if the player himself would like to join) ...
CONTRACT RUMBLINGS
the valdés situation looks like it will bring itself to resolution ... still, rumours persist ... i don't like the pepe reina link; he is error-prone too ... the club should be looking to make an upgrade in quality if valdés is going -- and there will hardly be any bids that will better his financial situation (as has been noted), so he will in all likelihood stay ... i still believe that sébastien frey is the way forward ... he's totally underrated, and he is honestly as good as buffon when gigi was at his peak ... i watch fiorentina just to see frey in action ...
also, what's the update on the yaya touré situation? anything close to being resolved?
my biggest interest is obviously in the eto'o situation ... looks like the possibility of him extending no longer exists, which is a shame ... lots of possible destinations being mentioned ... hard to know what could be real, and what is just paper talk ... i still want to see zlatan arrive ...
LEFT BACK POSITION
why doesn't the club look into bringing in capdevila for left-back? i agree with arnau about the quality of the man ... plus, he's 31, and i think his contract expires next year (unless he signed an extension recently, which i am not aware of), so he can't be too expensive ... he will comfortably start ahead of abidal -- who i would not at all mind seeing offloaded this summer -- so he should have no complaints about not seeing the possibility of first-team football ... and he'll have a chance to win big silverware ... i'm sure he'd sign once txiki convinces villarreal to agree to a reasonable transfer fee ...
taye taiwo is another name at left-back that i will mention ... having him and dani alves bomb forward will cause no end of additional grief for opposition defenders ... and he's a pretty decent defender ...

Betis got relegated ... so surely Achille Emana will look for a move -- even on loan -- for the coming season? what's his situation, i wonder ...

that is great news about valdes!!! BTW i heard it was till 2014...
hopefully toure will be next, and then we rosolve eto'o by either selling or extending, the whole zlatan thing has grown on me and i'd actually like to see him here very much.... On the LB, filipe luis would be the best choice because of his experience in la liga, although i wouldn't mind taiwo either he has a left foot like roberto larcos...
I will be in LA on the 1st to see the team play, I just bought 2 tickets for 50 dollars!!!!!

Mata will be a great signing for you guys, Madrid might even hate him as much as Luis Enrique if it happens and I'm sure he will be interested in joining Barça to make Madrid regret losing him. Robinho is a good player but he is basically been selling himself to you and Madrid, so its obvious he's desperate and City won't let him go so soon.

I would love to have Young in our team. He's a great, young winger with a lot of potential. It would just be a case of whether he wants to play in Spain, and whether he is ready to be warming the bench once in a while.
