Messi makes everything look so easy (Dytza wrote this few months ago).

:D Talking about SG quotes this is the one who got in my mind imediately after watching this match:

The first goal was simply amazing. He's so small and yet manage to create wonders. How the hell can he do that?! I think its fair to say that no single player is on par with him right now.

If he continues like that, he might be considered amongst the likes of Maradonna or Zidane. Too bad Argentina are performing so badly... IMO, he'll only be but together with the likes of Maradonna or Zidane if he wins the WC with Argentina. I don't see that happening any soon though.

Come on, he hasn't reached Zidane's level yet but he will if he continues like that. He hasn't won the WC single-heartedly with Argentina. And you can't compare him to Zidane. Zidane was more of a playmaker than a forward.

The problem is that no one else is scoring. Messi's hot streak will end and someone else will have to step up. Ibrahimovic had an awful game yesterday.....other than the penalty, he missed everything!

Plus you defense is awful.

As a team, you guys have a lot of work to do ahead of Arsenal/Mandril.

Our defense is awfull but we are the team with less goals recived in europe. Maybe you mean Márquez is awfull, then you are right. Ibrahimovic miss chances but played a great match yesterday, he will score next time playing like that.

Our defense is awful? It's clear you haven't watched too many of our matches.

Last night both of our conceded goals were because of a good pass, and we had subbed in Marquez who hadn't read the situation correct, and is way too slow to do anything about it afterwards. Didn't you see how Dani saved one semibreakaway and how Pique is constantly taking control around the box?

And as Arnau pointed out, we concede surprisingly few goals to have such an awful defense. :)

Awful defence? What the hell?! We received 2 goals because of a lack of concentration. Pique is the best central defender in the world atm. Maxwell is also improving while Dani Alves is unhuman. Marquez is nowhere near the Marquez before Chelsea 1st leg injury, though I always considered him one of our worst defenders. He use to make big mistakes and award penalties.

Most of you probably don't know but we played yesterday without 2 of our best players: Iniesta and Xavi ;)

I hope Ibra's form will get better, because he needs goals.

I knew about both Iniesta and Xavi missing the game.

Against better teams, 2 goals WILL be costly. Yesterday, they weren't because the team you were playing couldn't do much. It WILL be different in the CL.

As far as the "lack of concentration" part, like I said, against better teams a lack of concentration will be costly.

And can you tell me the last time we conceded 2 goals against a better team? Or did you somehow calculate that we're conceding 2 goals on an average per game, as I mentioned our goal difference...? We won't be conceding 2 goals in one match in the CL too often, I'll tell you that much.

Our best performances are always against big teams and against them, Márquez its on the bench.

We're going to kill Arsenal in the first leg so i better keep my money for a semifinal ticket. Yes, i'm underestimating the oponent but its because i know my players won't. You heard it here first.

Usually I'll enjoy watching Messi play like this now I'm scared :( (for both the WC & UCL).
haha, too right ... and you play them in the first round of matches too, so not only will there will be no chance of him being rested, but he and his side will be fired up to make an instant mark on the tournament ... but don't worry, I, and all of Africa, will be cheering for you guys to pull off an upset ...

well, the top two goalscorers in La Liga have 45 goals between them, and they both happen to be Argentinian ... Argentina may have only scraped into the 2010 World Cup, but they have ridiculous talent, especially in attack ... and if El Diego actually picked the best Argentinian players and didn't leave any out (e.g. Zanetti, Cambiasso), then they have a squad to compete with anyone ...

haha, yes! (Y) and long may it remain that way -- well, till the end of the season at least, and then we can ship him out to the first takers ...

Messi is better than Zidane.

Zidane might be the most overrated footballer of all time. As far as attacking midfielders go, Ronaldinho was just as good in his prime, and was more entertaining to boot.

Messi its only comparable to Maradona, and he is only 22.

some interesting quotes from coaches that have seen both playing, Maradona and Messi.

Zaragoza Coach Jose Aurelio Gay: Lionel Messi Is Like Maradona But Faster

"The game was exciting, vibrant, beautiful and we love the football we've seen from a huge player. Today I returned to seeing Maradona in his heyday but with more revolutions, much faster."

The coach of Deportivo de la Coruña, Miguel Angel Lotina, admitted: “Long ago I have been saying it’s the best. For me it is the most complete I’ve ever seen and is more than Maradona.”

“Like Maradona won free-kicks, but he is much faster and more skilful,” he said Lotina technical itinerant League (Osasuna, Celta Vigo and Real Sociedad Espanyol, before Depor).

casually they agree in the same, its like Maradona but faster.

Messi's among the greatest, no doubt about that. But with all respects, the real Ronaldo is the best ever in my book.

Messi aint from this world at the moment, no doubt. I really enjoy watching him play. I only fear as far up as he is now, he might fall deep. I mean, hes just 22, hes got a lot of years in front of him. Lets just hope, he wont be another Owen, Ronaldo, or Ronaldinho.
