I understand why you picked Kanu over Kluivert or false 9 Ronald de Boer, but Seedorf over Davids at LCM? also Bogarde over Frank de Boer?

Schweinsteiger is no Rijkaard. Also, Dante isn't able to operate in that Frank de Boer role IMO. For that matter, I don't really see much playmaking ability in Javi Martinez.

So reports from Bavaria suggest that Badstuber might be a lot healthier than anyone had previously imagined; this would solve a lot of my concerns with the 3-4-3. We're also hearing that a Cuadrado offer could be in the works. So those positions up there are wrong, but if Bayern do rock a 3-4-3 I would imagine something like this



So theoretically then Gotze could play all 3 forward positions, and Ribery at least 2. Thiago would be able to fill in for Lahm or Schweinsteiger. With the exception of Gotze and Thiago, although I think both would start a lot of games, this gets all the talent on the field at the same time, which other possible formations struggle to do, and not only that but it puts them in their "Pep preferred" positions.

Remains to be seen whether it will work, but it HAS been successful in the (more distant) past with the Dream Team and LVG's Ajax. I think ultimately a carrilero is maybe the position that could get the most out of Alaba because he can work a flank AND come inside.

Bild claims to have overheard a conversation between Pep and Gerland on the training ground where they talked about Badstuber. Pep is quoted as saying "Hermann, Hermann. Last season we had two outstanding centerbacks. But Badstuber is better! He's the best I ever had!"

This honestly wouldn't surprise me. Badstuber always was good passing the ball. He used to take corners and free kicks.

We are not Dortmund. It is easy to forget how well regarded Badstuber was because he hasn't played in nearly 2 years. He has 30 caps for Germany and was preferred over Hummels, not to mention over Demichelis and Boateng in his time at Bayern. He's like a better passing Mertesacker. Bads came under criticism in his career for his ineptness at left back, but play Per at LB and what do you think is going to happen?
