Because when you say "he is scoring so much from the wing!" it implies that he's running up and down the flank like Beckham used to do, when that is not the case at all. He is a forward and you can't just limit what he does to "winger". Not to mention that the two top scorers in the world right now are "wingers", so maybe, just maybe, playing on the "wing" isn't really all that limiting to ones goal scoring potential.

And where the fuck is he running up and down? In the middle? He plays on the wing. Of course he is not Beckham or Jesus Navas if that's what "winger" means to you, but playing in an attack composed of three man, him being the one on the left side makes him a winger.

Alexis is great, but already reached his peak. He scored more last year because he was already an established player in the squad at his third season. Neymar was at his 1st season outside Brazil and he did quite well though.
