I read that Kroos might et the starting berth at tthe pivot rather than as AMC this year. Thoughts?

How are you gonna set up then?

Ribery-Muller-Robben
Kroos-Schweini/Gustavo

Or perhaps a 4-3-3 with Kroos, Gustavo and Schweini?

No, Muller in the AMC role, or possibly Shaqiri. Kroos next to Schweinsteiger. In tough games Muller would come out, Kroos would push up, and Gustavo would add more steel to the midfield. 90% of teams play against us like they do against Barcelona, it only makes sense to play Kroos as a MC in these games.

That's the other thing, I'm sure Mandkuzic is a fine player and person, but I'd rather that Pizarro plays while Gomez is out injured. But probably not, no.

I like Mandzukic, I hope he gets a decent run. Pizarro is nearly 34 give the new boy a chance!

Everything on the first post I love Shifty but ffs what's with the emo ending? :( GO Bayern! so How's our centerback position filling? I feel that's our weakness atm.

I actually think Dante is pretty good, if he beats out Boateng for the job we could have a really solid defense. Boateng is shaky; a penalty waiting to happen.

The player (not the poster) Pizarro is still probably the 4th best striker in the league after Huntelaar, Lewandowski, and Gomez. And none of those guys get assists. He was brilliant in 2012 with 18 goals and 8 assists. Mandzukic was at 12 and 8. Their teams finished nearly identical in the table. And it doesn't hurt to be a club legend either.

Boohoo does Robbie Fowler ring a bell? what was he 40 and still playing? it hurts to see him finish on the top level before going back to South America for a couple of years. :-(

Muller is too good to warm the bench, barely see bad match from him.

Squad depth will help Bayern alot unless some players act Olic

Muller was pretty bad last year after the first month. He lost his spot to Kroos honestly. 7 goals last year, down from his usual 12 or 13. And two of them came on the last match day in a romp to relegate Koln. He played fewer minutes, but not half as many, and still appeared in every Bundesliga match.

I love how Bayern front office is all made up of former football players

Their set-up is how things would be in a perfect imaginary world by Fifa gamers.

I always thought former players should be directive instead coaches (unless they are good at) most of ex-players get chances in first/second division as coach just because they were players and then sucks at work, there are a lot of talented coaches who barely get chances because clubs keep signing ill-prepared former player managers.

I agree with you about former players getting jobs they don't deserve, but I'd be even more worried about them controlling all the money! Bayern got really lucky in that respect with Hoeness. He's the only one I trust as a businessman.
