Of course, Alaba and Gomez are injured right now, so perhaps Boateng on the right, Lahm on the left, Dante in the middle, and Mandzukic up top for the opening game.

And it would not surprise me in the least if Martinez ends up at CB like Arnau says.

As I say, I still expect to see Luiz Gustavo on tough road games at the very least, so the only time we'd ever see that mouth watering formation would be against poor Dusseldorf.

We play poor Regensburg on Monday in the first round of the DFB Pokal. That's where I stayed during my short time in Bavaria.

He wouldn't fit in, it's nothing more than smoke. Also we paid a **** load for him, like 17m. Barca would have to pony up something like 30.

He also said he didn't know Javi Martínez. Which is normal because he's not connected to the world of foot...oh wait.

He doesn't really play for Spain, and I can see how someone as busy as Beckenbauer wouldn't go out of his way to watch Bilbao matches. It's not like he's involved in transfer decisions or anything.

Do you guys see that most places have our Champions League odds at 14/1? In some places that's worse than Chelsea and Juventus, and worse than Manchester United everywhere. I mean... last year's run wasn't a fluke. I'd put us as third favorites. It's the same team plus Javi Martinez, Shaqiri, Mandzukic, and Dante; big upgrades on depth.
