yeah I got that already, you don't like the coach...and I'm not his greatest fan either, but considering PdC's statement about VP staying for the remainder of his contract should help you realize that whinning about is kind of useless; I advise you to acknowledge the reality and deal with it by supporting our team no matter what...not an easy task atm bro, I know that, but there really shouldn't be another way around it for us true fans.

If you consider the team as a whole, it obviously should include the coach...you know what I mean.

No no no no no. I love the club man, and the club is bigger than even our President. I disagree with many things he's done, one of them being keeping Vitor Pereira. I also have disliked many players who wore our jersey throughout the years. I always, ALWAYS want Porto to win. That doesn't mean I need to like this guy or that guy.

I'm not arguing about your liking or disliking of the coach, players or whoever, everyone is entitled to have its own opinion of course...I mean to support them, even when one might not consider them as being the best choices for the team. that's all I'm saying, but maybe I'm just too "romantic" about this matter

anyway, one thing that has got me thinking lately...the only logical explanation to have Maicon as our starting RB for this long is that Sapu and Fucile must have both ****ed up badly, like punching each other's face on a training session or something like that. your thoughts?

Filipower

Bunburyist
I have no idea, really, but it must have something to do with that string of lousy performances. Fucile is most probably leaving, anyway. Unfortunately. Hopefully Danilo isn't a flop!

the thing is, you seem to think VP is at fault for ALL of it...I just can't agree with that and I've explained to you my view about this before.

The refereeing was scandalous and kept us from even trying to stage a decent comeback.

Filipower

Bunburyist
Yeah, and his coaching is scandalous and will keep us from winning anything this year. You think he's done a good job? Or, not a terrible one?

But of course I still believe it's possible man, and I agree the refereeing was absurd.

Result-wise, I don't think he's done that bad tbh.
I just don't like what I see on the field, most of the time. Last match against Guimarães I actually got excited with the way we played, it'd been a long time since I saw us playing such fluid football. But now this happens...it's frustrating. The players have a lot to do with it, mind. For large periods during the games they don't seem to show the kind of will we are used to see in the players that wear our shirt...it's like last year everything was so easy and perfect that they now think they don't need to push themselves as much as before for wins to come around.

We desperatly need another striker, someone that we can trust to arrive and start delivering immediately. But that kind of player is not gonna be cheap, and considering the rumours around our financial condition we can only dream about such thing...
Plus another midfielder would be in order (Belluschi and probably also Guarín are as good as gone). Lucho and Ganso have been mentioned a LOT these days but it's probably not gonna happen. Can't say I would mind having El Comandante back. He wouldn't come to be our lord and savior but we definitely have room for a club legend like him.

So, it had been a long time since you saw us play such fluid football, the players aren't motivated and we need another striker. Well, who's fault is that? (I agree that on the motivation part the players have a share of blame, but not all of it)

what else do you want me to say? If you read my entire post you'll find the answer to your question there.
This negative cloud surrounding the team is not to be limited to coach and players' fault, it starts above them. If the board and the rest of staff isn't able to create an healthy and stable atmosphere around the team there is no way that we can endure having a team that constantly wins.
I've read and heard a lot of things for the last couple of months that had me thinking wtf is going on in there. We are not used to listening to **** like presidents from other teams saying we owe them money...and I really can't remember something like that envolving us being a matter of public discussion before.

I saw parts of the game and yes, Porto looked like they were playing a friendly. Lack of motivation and i have to agree with Fili with his hate on VP. In the beginning of the season i said that VP to me was like a younger JJ, he talks too much ****. He should focus on his team moral. They really lack spirit.

Theres still a lot to play, so who knows.

well, we beating you guys in the next clássico would definitely add likeliness to that "who knows" theory :browsmiley:
