AVB is condemned to work in a lower league after 2 flops in EPL (Portugal, Russia, Turkey...). Porto is a good place to restart his career if there's the chance.

Hopefully it's not him if you ask me, I wouldn't want another coach with no experience in the big stage.
Marcelo Bielsa would be my choice, he's not exactly consecrated but I've always like his style...anyway I really just want to see us back on track, whoever comes. Or stays.

I don't think Bielsa would be a good fit for Porto because of how your front office buys up talent. You need someone to take a chance on the great foreign youngsters, not a guy who is going to try to mold robots. Bielsa would be best for... well for Bilbao.

Van Gaal would be an interesting idea, but I've kind scratched him off after not too long ago he said he'd like to coach Benfica one day.

fender every manager in the portuguese league wears the armband, it's a rule.

Yes South America isn't exactly the place to look for periodização táctica, but in any case that whole fancy sounding thing is just a means to an end: win. Anyway I don't see Bielsa coming, the President would almost surely go for a Portuguese guy.

I agree, all methodologies are valid and winning is the only thing that matters. Don't know what Porto thinks about that.

I'm hoping Castro can do a good job. He's been with the youth department for 8 years and the B team is currently top of the 2nd league. Hopefully he can promote some youngsters (and some not-so-youngsters who are on the B team), and clean up some of the mess that is our squad in order to build solid foundations for next year and more years to come. Hell, he might even be the right guy to lead us in the next 3 or 4 seasons, if things turn out fine!

I'd have absolutely no problems with that. After all we all just want to see the team winning, playing good football ASAP and for a long time.

And yeah the B team is doing great this season, and there are a few players that might become real assets for the main team in a near future. Most promising for me are Rafa and Ivo, both still young enough to play for the U-19's which is crazy considering how freakin' good they are. Rafa being a left-back would inclusively be a nice addition to the squad right now given that it would finally allow Alex Sandro to get some rest...and competition.

Agreed. And I think everyone wants Gonçalo Paciência to follow in his dad's footsteps. Maybe Reyes and Kelvin can start to come through too, even though I don't think much of Kelvin. Can't we bring Iturbe back while we're at it?

Iturbe is gonne. There's nothing we can do. At least we have Licá...

That shit would have been solved in 5 seconds, Reina hadn't even taken the free-kick before the replay showed Carlos Eduardo was on side. It wouldn't have delayed the game whatsoever, it would just have been fair.
