FIFA 06 Demo - Your Impressions

Wow, the more I play it the more I fall in love with this game. EA have done a very good job this year.

I have played PES/WE for years and only played Fifa games every now and then when I was bored, but Fifa 2006 will definately change that, I'll be playing it just as much as PES5, probably more. Only problem that I have is that I WANT THE FULL VERSION NOW!

Me 2... i'm discovering a lot of tricks, you can do a tunnel pressing L2 when the ball is arriving to the player and long powerful shot pressing twice shot button i think, the gameplay compared to FIFA 2005 is simply awesome, i was not expecting this kind of revolution by EA in only 1 year... for me FIFA 2006 DEMO killed PES4, i no longer play it, it's boring now when you can play FIFA 2006 instead...

I agree with this though I still play PES4 online. I am in desperation to get 06, please, please hurry September and Im sure I'm finished with all other football games.

im pretty annoyed really. Because i can never play an old game (eg pes4) when a new version has come out (FIFA 06). even though i would probably enjoy playing pes more.

Played the demo, cause some people of the pes forums were actually exiting about it. HAHA what a laugh. I dont understand why so many people like this game. Its just pathetic. Oke its better then 2005 even if i played that for like 10 minutes but its nothing compared to REAL soccer. I think that the people who like fifa2006 dont understand real soccer, even if they play soccer themselves i dont think they have the knowlegde of soccer. The trough passes, what the hell ??!!! they tried to finally steal some things of pes/we and then they even **** that up

Well, I must say that I really hate the shiny effect. The players look like they are made of glass or something. It was the same in 05, but not in the Champions League game...why now?

Agree in the first part. I play to both games, cause are diferent visions of football. But im disagree with other things, for example, PES always had been more difficult to play than fifa, overall in his last version, i had the chance of to play to WE9 (pes5) and in level 3 the things are really, really hard. Pes is not except of a lot of button combinations, and believe that there´s nothing arcade in WE9 (pes5). Ok, so we can compare fifa2006 with pes4, but this is a bad thing, cause we are comparing a new game as fifa2006 witht the last year version of PES4. As i said at the beggining tottally diferent games that dont must to think that you cannot play both games, cause each one have somethings diferents to the other one. The thing that i can say as a Barça fan is that the Ronaldinho face is really really near to the real face, not more monkey faces at least!!.... Anyway i did my review post before....

Everybody should bow down and kneel before the shining light of your superior knowledge of the game! You should recieve a statue at the San Siro (Inter side of course)

Well i've not read anybody elses posts and have given the demo with extender a good going over the last few days.

When I first started playing I was impressed by the way it initially felt, but with the extender it started to show it's flaws.

Graphics 7 out of 10
The stadiums and pitch look great, shame it's let down by shoddy player graphics, I mean look at the hair and awful skin textures.

Sound 8 out of 10
Commentry team is great and not too repetitive, although the calling of players names dissapered in the demo for some reason?? Also team names need to be used for all the top teams, and not just the few from 2003.

Gameplay 6 out of 10
Although it's now playable at least, I still feel I don't have full control over the players, just feels like i'm a bit part in between each sequence of animation that takes place.
Scoring goals aswell doesn't feel an achievment, feels numb in a way and I am left with the feeling, was that me or some randomised goal from the result of me pressing the shoot button.
Ball physics need to be heavier and it needs to react like it's not on a piece of string.


Overall 7 out of 10

While it's an improvement, judging by the demo, it's not worthy of a purchase yet, I know it's only a demo but that's all i'm judging it on, so if they fix these issues on full release then great i'll buy it, but I think you'll find the demo is the final release on the gameplay front.

Better EA but with your resources not good enough!

I cant believe on how so many PES fanboys spend alot of time on the FIFA forums moaning about how "they know what real soccer is, because they play PES" like come on seriously, who are you trying to impress?

I suggest you FIFA bashers take your heads out of your asses and stop talking so much ****. Don't get me wrong I like both games but I feel FIFA has more entertainment especially when friends are over, and want a fast paced game. I admit sometimes PES gets boring.

I give the demo a 9/10 after reviewing it with the extender. Now bring on the official release!

PES is far from real soccer to me too. Its just a matter of which flawed game one chooses to play. Thanks for your good luck wishes and I certainly am going to purchase and play this game as I will the flawed and arcade PES5 too.

Like all of us here I too LOVE football. I also LOVE playing FIFA & PES.

Each year I preorder FIFA & PES & this year is no exception. Why? Because I can appreciate what both EA & Konami have to offer.

They both interperate & offer very different gaming experiences of the game we all are so passionate about and it really needs to stay that way. The day they are the same will be a sad day for football sims because inovation will cease.

IF FIFA or PES is not for you then fine, don't buy it. If you're open minded & can appreciate what both games have to offer then try/buy them both & enjoy.

And for the guy from europe, i am from europe to and i just use the word soccer cause football is also another sport in the usa and there are a lot of americans here but whatever u like....

and for u italian sarcastic boy, haha please men... u are not just a little over the top. I dont mean that u cant be a good player if u play fifa, or somebody who has big knowledge of the real game. But i just believe that ur playing something really different then soccer/Football and i know that i am not the only one.

[edit] haha diegooo, whats that with PES fan boys thing? im not some kind of footy computer nerd that will do anything to make fifa look like crap. I have played fifa from the one before 96, then i got 96(which owned),97(which sucked),98,99,2000... and then i discovered pes, and i waited untill EA came with something close to it but year after year i found that fifa became worse and worse. I cont care if its ea or konami or the Queen who make the game, i just play and see the good and the bad things...

Graphics:
The Stadium is the greatest! 10/10 for EA!

However, If the graphic of the player in the demo is going to be "transfered" to the official release, then I would say DON'T BUY! It's AWFUL! But I really hope this is just a Demo graphic! So, 0/10 for EA!

Sound and Musuc:
Sounds ok, nothing much to cheer about! 8/10 for EA!
However, the music is great! So, it's 10/10 for EA!

Game Play:
To be honest, nobody should judge the gameplay in demo, it's too fast for me! Of cause, the official one would allow you to change all the GAME SETTING! This one no command at the moment!

Conclusion:
If the Demo is going to be the official one, then I say forget about FIFA06! Stick to the ever-reliable FIFA2005!
But, If the Demo is only 50% to 70% of the real thing (Official FIFA06), then EA got to make it up for the rest of that % to be 100% especially the graphics of the Players! ERRRRR!

I will wait and see!
