FIFA 07 runs very laggy in Vista

Hey I just upgraded my computer to Vista Ultimate X64.

Add upgraded hardware to Dual Core Athlon 64 6000+ (3.0ghz), and EVGA-EGeforce 8800GTS.

Fifa 07 runs very laggy now, whereas every other game runs perfect. Anyone know if there is there a fix to this problem or anything I can do?

I just upgraded to a system similar to yours - Vista 64 Home Premium, AMD 64 6000+ 3GHz, (2x) ASUS GeForce 8800GTS, 2GB memory and FIFA 07 is a mixed bag. The menus are slower and have an unstable feel to them, though I haven't experienced a crash yet. The game engine and cutscenes run fine at 1600x1200 on the high settings.

Try to play fifa in compatibility mode( i don´t know if this is the correct term)

Right click in your fifa.exe and choose properties. Then go to the compatibility tab and choose execute the game in Windows Xp.

I don´t have vista yet. This are the processes in XP. In Vista can be a litlle different,

I noticed a huge performance difference by disabling SLI for FIFA 07.

Graphics and sound drivers could be the issue... make sure you have the latest drivers for both of these.

If possible try to download the version previous to the latest and / or the drivers that most people are using

You can go to 3dguru.com for video drivers and forums, and have a look and see what the latest driver sets are, that don't have windows signatures, but will run on systems, although i would advise getting ones that have windows signatures and have been verified by microsoft.

For sound drivers you'll probably have to go to the relvant hardware vendor pages on the net.
