I decided to include some another ASI Loader, which has more advanced loading settings.
I also added fifa.fat entries limit fix (50'000 entries) in a separate plugin.
I hope it's now easier to install and use it.

New version of Asset Loader for FIFA 08 is released.
Now the package includes an installer tool.

The new version includes features from previous version:

Loading from data/assets
Increased number of files in big/fat
Increased total memory limit
Increased texture memory limit
Increased jersey font quality
Possibility to load HD kitnumbers
Fixed "Requires Hardware Acceleration"

And adds new features:

Models and textures of different size
Custom headlods and hairlods
Increased number of textures in fsh
Increased number of textures in scene
Removed player ID limit (200000)

In short: now we can use HD faces, stadiums, kits, without crashes.



* Euro 2008 game is still supported, but no Asset Loader update for it.

Good evening. When trying to install, it indicates an error: the selected directory is not the fifa 08 directory.
I'm pointing the way to fifa 08-an error. Path: fifa 08/data - error. Where to install it? Or is it enough to transfer the files that are in the installer_files folder?

Did you add new faces or there are problems only with provided faces?

I think the problem is that there are 2 or more FSH files with the same unique hash value.
I.e. your FSH files are incorrect and must be rebuilt.
I can make a guide on how to do this with otools, if needed.

1) create a folder and put your FSH files there

2) unpack these FSH files with OTools

3) pack it back (add -fshWriteToParentDir in command-line window)

Your FSH files will be rewritten after this.

- Players with ID higher than 200000 are now correctly loaded in Edit Mode
- Possibility to use custom body models

I will be grateful if someone can test the 200000 ID case. I think the solution is finally found.

FIFA 08 ASI Loader is an extension to FIFA 08 which gives an ability to load/attach custom plugins (files with .asi extension) to the game process.

The installer will install ASI Loader, Asset Loader and Custom Text Loader.
The ASI Loader itself is "placed" inside ddraw.dll file, and all other plugins are in "plugins" folder with .asi extension.

I understand. Sadly, the FIFA 08 "unlimited fat fix" version (executable size 6'255'718 bytes) is not available anymore on FIFA-Korea and on SoccerGaming either. The original link is broken.
