    Masks and channels

Hello, FIFA 11 brought me back to the forums since 07 when i stopped playing fifa and now, as someone said we got 2 great games this year. But i'll leave my thoughts on both games to another thread. What brings me here is that while i was doing some testing with TexMod i found somw useful textures. i'll make it short:

    [IMG][IMG]
(it's a photo because printscreen and fraps are not working correctly maybe due to TexMod)
the "purple" map is used as a mask for the normal maps for the different kinds of fabrics so each shirt model will have a unique mask, this also applies to the shorts and socks. (my kit is completely plain in that area).

For balls i found that the normal map also stores an alpha channel which i think it's used for the specular levels.

    AND NOW THE BIG FINALE
    [IMG]
(don't know if anyone already tried this but it will help a lot) tomorrow i'll clean it and upload it as 3ds or obj so you can open it in your favourite software.

Good night and good luck to Ariel, $ido, Hrvoje and friends with those tools.

How did you make this screenshot? I mean: how did you export the player 3d model?
    Thanks!

    Kits map channels research

It's a Software called 3DRipperDX which works similar to TexMOD except that this one also exports models. Then it's imported to a 3d package which in my case is 3ds max. The importer does the job very well but the initial result can be very messy.

Here is the result of my research about the map channels. The image is pretty much self explanatory. I still have some testing to do but i think that it will help to get the most of this great engine which the more i see the more it amazes me.
