Usually happens when names are deleted from playernames.
A program like CM14 for example deletes unused names from the playernames table. So if a player is deleted by EA and you manually update your DB (importing tables and such from Match Day), then edit something with CM14 and after some time, update your DB again and that certain player has been readded, then his name will be blank as it was deleted by CM14 after the player himself was deleted by EA.
Or some names are simply missing in the table from start.

Don't use CM14, used tools like Excel/Access/DB Master/Inner Master.

Hey Beta, is there any way you could increase slide tackle frequency? The CPU rarely slide tackles and when they do, it is always perfectly timed.

Don't know if it works, but I edited fifa_ng_db-meta.xml and increased the seasons to 30 instead of 15.
At the moment I'm at season 8, so it will take sometime before I reach season 15>.

I've finally made my own patch, based on some explanations from you. Let me tell you that I've been editing FIFA series since FIFA06 or 07 (can't remember) and I also edited and patched several FIFA MANAGER games, since Total Manager 05 or 04. I've been a recknowed editor, even made some good patches/mods for Fifa Manager which were after included in Original Game.

I would like to go on tweakind CPUAI, becouse I found that modding/patching the vanilla game, CPUAI is also tweaked some way: I found difficulty increased, animations forced, and some rare stuff like that (momentum). I think it's not placebo effect

So I would like to get a more realistic gameplay, so many more fouls are conceeded per match, more cards, more failed tackles from CPU, more real situations. Don't know if you can help me on that. I don't want overalls to be changed, couse that would change whole CareerMode, which is the main gamemode I play.

Apart from that, I remember there was a line in FIFA07, in the file career.ini, which said:
NUM_SEASONS_IN_CAREER = 15
Perhaps you could make a career.ini file and try to include it, or include it in other files which states default variables for CM mode, like in cmsettings.ini or product.ini
Don't know if it could work, but could you try it?

I also read some post ago that you were working on a FAQ about editing FIFA files, is it true? Please tell me if you need help as I could help you there

Hi Beta990, I played a few matches with the 3.9final version and I like the AI, it´s near perfection but I just have a little worrie about the GK´s, they are mostly unbeatable in 1vs1 :/

Well, even without this mod GK's can be tough to beat in 1vs1. You can reduce CPU GK ability in game settings.

@beta990 Keep up the good work, your mod is better with every new version. Although I still play version 3.7 because it's most stable for me, I can't wait to try out the final 3.9 version. Did you make only gameplay changes or did you also tweak player growth? Maybe you should post a full changelog of the things you've tweaked.

About the career-mode season increase: I don't know if it is needed, because the career.ini file doesn't exists anymore in any data*.big file.

Thanks man! You tweak the GK-level lower in Game Settings.
Will lower this in version 4.0.

Well, even without this mod GK's can be tough to beat in 1vs1. You can reduce CPU GK ability in game settings.

I have instaled 3.9 final version and found some bugs.
1. Game always starts in English when I set Czech as game language, also, when I leave lenguage selection option, first is English, not Czech as it is without you patch. I wanna play in Czech but with fast start it starts in English or I have to move stick to Czech.
2. In career mode, I started season and the biggest trasfer was young player for 1 500 000 euros. No other good or top players movement. In winter, all teams in my league spend 80!!!! euros on transfers witch is stupid. Biggest transfer was for 3 300 000 euros.
3. Also, in matches, radar dissapired and it shows names only for one team.
4. Game play is good but, as said before, there are too many great slide tackles from the oponent.

I did't change anything in default settings, just language as said.

About slide tackles. You are right, but now oponents players and not only deffenders slide more often and always gets the ball. Negredo scored goal like that, tackled my defender, win the ball and scored. I know, it can hapen in real game but not likely.

There's an option No Gameplay patch in the installer.

Ah I didn't thought you had tried it. Maybe try regenerating? Although that shouldn't be needed anymore. Remove the fast start codes in the rna would be my next advice them. Or change 0 values to 1.

As for the slide tackle, wait for beta's answer you can edit those codes in the rna but I'm sure beta would be more helpful and would like that piece of feedback.

Don't choose the database patch check box in the installer. Other options depends on your preference.

Is there a way to limit the max overall of a player out of the youth academy or increase the rarity of really high overall players. I've had numerous players come out of the youth academy that were between 77 and 80 overall which makes the game a little less fun. It removes the trial of bringing them up from their non first team player in that 60-70 overall level to their potential.

Also is there a way to make sure a job offer will be accepted when applying for other managerial jobs, I keep getting turned down.
