FIFA 14 Full Game [Features, Feedback & Details]

I purchased becuase I got that price and also what mods will be coming (AI) mainly from this site.

Anyway ... now I tested it all out I can answer my own questions which might inform others who havent got the full game yet:

NOTE: I am a more pro/Ai player but do also like a play all game, I play full manual using sliders mainly offline, just to make that clear

MY OWN Q&A

1. Tournament Mode ... Can you "lock to player" rather than only play all?

No, you still have play-all only. I still cannot fathom why EA cant add lock to player to this mode as well ... I can live with it but still a shame for this year. I posted in official forums feedback plenty of times for this.

2. Does Be A Pro have tournament mode option?

No just usual tournament modes.

3. I understand that you now cannot create a tournament (quick seed a dummy one in the game with options) and you have to use creation centre instead (what a joke) ... is this true or false? (I know modding can sort this out but I want to see what I actually get for paying for the game)

This is false, some people got this twisted on the official forums.

4. Career mode ... if you lock to a player and then in the game sub one of your team, are you still locked to player when you return back to the match or has if forced you to play all again? (This was a bug last year)

This has finally been fixed & to top that off locking the camera to the player is now added unlike last year, so like pro you can choose to lock cam to player or the ball while playing... now that was a bonus and enough satisfaction for career mode.

5. Be a pro Career ... When your subbed/injured as pro do you now consistently get the option to Sim/Watch the rest of the game (AI v AI)/Play all as an option every time this happens? (last year was buggy and more often than not forced you to play all).

Yes I have tested this and its now fixed, everytime you get subbed as a pro you get 3 options:

1. Sim the rest of the game (normal simming)
2. Watch the rest of the game (AI V AI)
3. Play as all the team

I notice that you cant play unranked 11v11 any-more either in the rooms, that's pretty poor, only reason I bothered on-line.

Yep under the rooms you only have unranked 2v2 1v1 head to head .. or its the usual ranked head to head and seasons ... all of which I never play (which means paying £23 seems worth it as thats a part of the game I dont want as well as FUT to a point). 11V11 funny enough was the only one I liked and now that's gone ... more reason its worth less.

MODES:

Can you watch AI V AI in career?

Career mode is like last year and before unfortunately (even though ive asked for it in requests sections on EA and others have) I dont think they want to entertain this for some reason.

Pro career simming when your not picked for starting 11 = standard sim (cant watch)
Pro career when you play and get injured/subbed by manager = You then do get an option to sim as normal (cant watch) or "watch the rest of the game" (the only time you can watch AI v AI new to 14) or play all.
Manager career - Simming = standard sim (cant watch).

So you cant watch AI v AI under simming.

BE A PRO CAREER

- Any time if you drop back to menu you can ask to be subbed right away or sim the game from that point. If you sub it will set manager to swap you, drop you back in game, when ball goes out you get subbed & you can sim or watch the rest of the game (AI v AI) or just sim it to the end of the game. Which is handy if you just give up or manager isnt subbing you and energy is low or injury (last year sometimes manager would do nothing and you spent the rest of game getting low stats becuase you were crippled). good as well if you just want to start a match, then sub yourself right away and kick back and watch the game .. although im not sure if manager will punish you for it too many times.

- Manager now more tactfully switches play from attack to defend etc (dpad) throughout the game, last year it might happen once near the end, now its fluent through the game. Depending on your role/position the team reflect this and so you have to adapt to it also, coming up from the back or attacking more.

UI

-Feels a little more professional
-No forced messages and news, you just browse at your leisure and the email system is better IE you have permanent inbox to view rather than exiting and dont see messages again & moving though calender doest stop every damn message.
- ratings and stats are clear on main page, in be a pro your current ratings get shown on main page along side your character to see how your doing via team rating for different stats like passing/crossing and so on.

I havent started full manager yet with scouting but seems people on official forums hate it becuase its a little more depth to it, that wont be a complaint from me.

I only played the Online part of Fifa 14 and I can say that it's AWFUL.
It's a very very bad game,my players always get caught offside,in the 45th and 90th minute,I conceed goals,I mean,EVERY last minute,I conceed a goal.
The defenders are just too stupid and Ultimate Team is the mode to make you rage like you never did before...I only conceed bullshit goals,sweaty goals and all that kind of goals.
That's my opinion,I feel so mad for spending 60 bucks on this crap...

Yes that's pretty much the online "vibe" I got from official forums (I killed off playing online quarter way through fifa13 and just mod offline now anyway). Problem is that's all I get from official forums and no one really reports missing features and answers any questions (thats why I came here to ask) ... any chance you can answer anything or speak about features not if 14?

Well,career is a good mode,I do like it,but you still conceed goals in the 90th minute and 45th when your defenders are like statues.
The GTN is interesting,the player scouting is the same (Youth Academy) and pretty much it,the new interface is cool.
I am looking forward to playing the Career Pro,but then,that's the info I have.

We must be the only two people on he planet who care about this. Once I started playing with player lock on, I never went back to controlling 11 players. Didn't realize that was a bug BTW. Anyway, I'm still playing the demo.

And that thing about not being able to create tourneys? That can't be, can it? That feature has been in the game for years.

This doesn't answer your question, but playing a player Career I'm finding quite fun. And that says a lot because I don't generally enjoy Player Mode, but I'm getting a kick out of it this year. I play as the whole team though.

you should know by now that you only get something new every 4 or 5 years and anything in between is a tweaking of what you first received.

they remove things to make room for new (or recycled under a new name) every year, sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not.

if you are a fan of footy games and you have tried pes 14 you will either stick with 13 (which will be a barren forum in a matter of weeks) or you move on to 14.

the cpu is more human.
it is more unpredictable.
the impact engine is more stable.
it does play more through the midfield.
the constant counter attack is gone.
defending is a bit better.
the animations are better.
the movement is much more realistic.

i can go on, don't get me wrong i am not saying this is the god footy game of all footy games but it does suit me better than 13 did and i haven't made any significant edits yet.

the way you enjoy the game will determine whether or not you will want this game.

i have a wonder,a question,why in online games,gameplay is like in demo but in career or tournaments is more like 13 version? why? we had paid for all modes,not just for online!

the impact engine is more stable.
it does play more through the midfield.
the constant counter attack is gone.
defending is a bit better.
the animations are better.
the movement is much more realistic.

i can go on, don't get me wrong i am not saying this is the god footy game of all footy games but it does suit me better than 13 did and i haven't made any significant edits yet.

the way you enjoy the game will determine whether or not you will want this game.

But to be honest, it is still far away from a good simulation (my opinion)
At this stage, it is a good game. In the following years they need to make a good simulation out of it.

I mean, for me it is even worse than for you, because I look on every detail. For me, little aspects like the keeper dropping the ball to his feet instead of kneeling and putting it down (and what makes me angry is, that in the stupid free to play android fifa14 he does that!) Little aspects like
- players running as if devil is behind them up to 15 or more meters to get a ball for a throw instead of a ball boy. (and then, in the very last moment they stop and don't pick the ball.)
- players who are so much hurt that they are lying on the pitch can hobble from the pitch when substituted.
- keeper is standing around when a ball rolls in the box and lets it get out instead of picking it up
- players always first run away from the opponent or around him before you really can attack them, while opponent ai can steal you the ball even when you have the feeling they are a meter away
- your ai players don't come and help you if you are standing one against three and there isn't a button to tell them "hey, come here" which I would prefer more than a button to tell them "run blindly forward"
- your ai players do not tackle the opponent (not really) so they can walk through your whole pitchside and score if you do nothing. That's awful because this game shouldn't be one vs eleven (who always know what you do next) but one and ten vs eleven who don't know what you will do next
- ai is always faster than you (doesn't matter if you have the ball or not)
- the is still no movement/animation to calm down the game. In a real football game, when a player gets the ball, he doesn't rush forward. He stops the ball, slows his speed and looks around where to play it. I don't know the english words to describe this in more detail, hope you get what I mean.
- replays are awful.
- stadium atmosphere and all around is awful

and so on.

These are (as I said before) details. But for a simulation, you need to look on every detail. It like a racing game where you don't need to step on the gas but need to brake, this is an arcade game. when you have gas and brakes it is more a simulation (only an example)

So yes, fifa14 again is better than fifa13. But it's far away from being satisfying. (That's what I think)

I think you're missing my point. I read the pre-release reviews and reviews after it was released and I was hyped. I played it with a friend's ORIGIN account and I couldn't believe it. I had expected far more. Just like I expected far more from PES 14. Both are disappointing for me. Maybe I expected too much. There are minor improvements but not enough for me. The thing is people like fifaccitiu have done a great job on 13. Enough for me to enjoy it a whole lot. I can't stand the lack of lighting in 14 and the ULTRA STUPID TURFS! I'm disappointed BIG TIME. It looks like FIFA 13 with after a spit shine with EA and it's stupid media associates trying to convince people that it's Armour All was used to shine this outdated car. The saliva from the spit shine is nauseating.

***P.S. - The damn CPU defender recovery is absolutely ridiculous. I accept that the game is slower and that's a plus.***

Can anyone answer my questions at all who do have the game and like it enough to find out? You would be helping someone that will purchase (I just want to get a cheap price and rip it open with mods off-line to get what I want out of it, on-line died for me time ago) but i'm sitting on the fence based on some previous 13 niggles (hence the questions). If you didnt get from the questions I tend to gravitate toward Pro/lock to one player games.

Anyone at all? No one in the entire tinterwebz? I posted in official forums and bumped a few times, tumble-weed ... its like getting blood out of a stone

They seem to be well registered & SSL secure, but Im always dubious unless its UK based mainly (for games). IE dont get the key or its a revoked key & loads of hassles.

Although I never trust these places, anyone else used them? Seen mixed reviews. All the usual suspects I use are selling no less than £31 to £35 & £39.99 am im just not prepared to pay that for it. I got 12 & 13 for £25 from the places i already checked at these prices ... I cant understand the lack of deals this year based on a game that's just a (so called) polish of 13.

Ok well I did use that site via Paypal .. all legit enough and key arrived fast, was up and running within 30 mins. £23 for this game seems about right (for me). So if anyone wants this game but not full price thats the best online deal I have seen.

I saw this backed up in official forums, last year it was buggy, will still need to test though.

I also notice that custom chants are much louder (thank god) so all my custom chants (see my sig) are loud and need to be lowered which is good.

Other things I notice was playing a drop in pro match, I felt that the speed of running transition and movement are exactly what I want and expect using sliders and AI mods .. I was quite taken back how much that played online like I prefer offline. Now I can see how many people complain on official forums ... haha, tuff, now it plays more normal now. How people say its faster than demo is beyond me it isnt and to me motion seems more slower than demo on general movement.

Overall Im happy with speed with minimal slider tweaks to get this running how I liked it over modded in 13 to get the same. So im very much looking forward to AI tweak mods here.

I would not be as happy if I had to pay full asking price thats for sure. Oh and it was fun answering my own question
