Hello FIFA 14 fans,

You may have noticed that the second title update for FIFA 14 is currently live on PC. Please note that the update is scheduled to come to consoles over the next week. We'll share more news as it becomes available and timings are confirmed.

The FIFA 14 update addresses issues that FIFA fans have brought to our attention with important and appreciated feedback, including the following:

• Balancing lofted through balls.
• Balancing attacking headers.
• Balancing finesse shots.
• Improved defender switching during crosses.
• Freezes while making substitutions during gameplay.
• Freezes while entering and exiting Leaderboards.
• Improvements made to Dynamic Camera.
• Corrected crowd sections in Signal Iduna Park.
• Corrected “Any” and “GK” filters in Pro Clubs.
• We've responded to the community and upgraded FIFA 14 cover star Stephan El Shaarawy to 4* Skills in Online Seasons, Head to Head, and Career Mode using EA SPORTS Football Club Match Day. Since the FIFA 14 Ultimate Team ratings and database are separate from the Match Day Update, he will be assessed and potentially upgraded in FUT at a later date.

We've located some of the issues causing freezing throughout the game, but not all of them. Please continue to let us know about specific instances on the EA forums as your feedback has helped immensely. There are a small percentage of remaining crashing/freezing instances and the team will continue to investigate and address them as needed. Thanks for your patience during this time.

Our commitment to improve the FIFA 14 is ongoing, and regular feedback from our fans helps us prioritize and identify future improvements. Thanks again for your continuous feedback on Twitter, Facebook, and the EA Forums. We’ll continue to provide you with information through those channels as and when it becomes available.

Thanks,
The FIFA Team

You've done a lot more than that. Why won't EA share the details of what they did with regards to game speed, inertia/momentum, etc.?

After the patch, FIFA '14 feels a lot more like FIFA '13 - would you share with us what was done and why? The game feels nothing like it did in the demo and during the first week of release. This patch changed far more than the pithy bulleted list that was supplied above.

That doesn't sound good, are the changes really that bad?

I cant agree fully with people here, I played online after patch and especially in pro mode it was the same, I would say the "sluggish" that complainers had from day one who like pace. Running and stopping still means you overshoot to be able to turn.

People need to state what mode they play to test this and if they are online offline and if offline using sliders. I know offline its the same and to me the same as demo, unsure what game im playing based on comments and official forums.

I just think if people posted the mode they feel its worse on you might find a pattern, IE FUT or seasons etc. I had a seasons few games and used the unranked forums and apart from crappy lag in places I couldn't see much difference and didn't feel like 13.

Bangus, at some point mate your just going to have to find a cheap deal and buy it to really know, the forums are like a mystery of bad and good and to be honest now I have it I cant agree on half of what I read, it will drive you mad :)

This is my view of course and if you do feel its faster then thats how it is.

- Custom Chants volume fixed (still not perfect though)

Its still broken all my chants are full volume and setting any level or zero means they are full volume, and its not in the list of fixes, mucho placebo.

I also wonder how many people online play full assisted over full manual, it seems to me that this game shines now setting to manual play, I think assisted will still give that "13 feel" that wont help for online people as most use shallow defaults anyway.

This is the sort of comment I'm reading from a lot of people post-patch:

"...they didn't remove inertia, it's just not overdone as it was before. counter attacks play a more interesting role in the game, as now you can take advantage of skilled players and things feel more dynamic, but generally it's still a game of passing and sober build-up. animations look choppy at first, mostly because of the faster pace, but you get used to it. the problem is the game is only playable in slow speed, they really messed up with the pace. overall i like it."

The general theme with most of the post-patch comments I'm reading is that EA did in fact speed up the game up while removing some of the player inertia. Add to that all the complaints I'm reading about the CPU boost coding in career mode, and I don't think I can go back to playing yet another hyper-speed version of FIFA after playing this perfectly paced demo.

good news, for those who prefer the original over the updates that ea releases.

simply rename patch.big and patch.bh to patchold.big and patchold.bh and you are back to original 14 with no updates applied.

the gameplay files are in the patch.big file.

Thank you so much, didn't realize how bad the update was until i rolled back.
The only set back is that the cameras have gone back to being broken as well.

export fifacamera.dat from patch.big then create a camera folder in the data folder and put the fifacamera.dat in it and regenerate.

C:Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\FIFA 14\Game\data\camera\fifacamera.dat

Well thats it then they just threw patch into a separate data file, well that's easily manageable then :)

Bangus .. I know your point mate but as you can see full version and the tips means its not so bad ;) I think the thing you wont like is what you dont want is the 80 min panic and start panic for a few minutes :)
