FIFA 14 - User and CPU Sliders

I have been playing with the sliders because I wasn't overly happy with the balance of the game. The midfield was too clogged up, and there were not nearly enough shots on goal to be realistic. The CPU almost never made a mistake when passing, and was constantly scoring in the last few minutes. With these settings I have removed that element, and the game is way more fluid. CPU makes turnovers on occasion, and there are enough shots to make for a realistic game. I personally really enjoy the gameplay, especially with these tweaks.

For me it's a trying to find the balance between offline multi player and Career Mode.

Sprint Speed - 0 (im starting to wonder at "slow" setting whether this makes much difference under 50 and below)

Yup yup yup... the CPU GK in particular is awful this year, just a pathetic sieve. I have CPU GK at 100 and User at 50.

after all these years i am starting to wonder if the game speeds aren't speed related at all but more of added difficulty setting.

Well I messed with drastic changes to sprint speed and I didn't see any drastic changes, not that I mind as it seems to be ok anyway. Acceleration is still obvious. I think setting game speed to fast or normal may show margin of changed with sprint speed, once game speed is "low" I think the sprint speed slider is out of range so to speak as its already slow enough.

Set CPU to 1 speed and User to 99 and you'll see plenty of difference. (Y)

The speed problem is mostly a CPU movement programming issue. The CPU never really utilizes speed; never runs full tilt boogie in a straight line. It always runs a bit, stops, meanders, dawdles, etc. So top-end speed ratings are wasted on the CPU in that regard. Whereas the User can easily take advantage of higher speed ratings by yanking on the sprint trigger and blowing by slower CPU players, something the CPU rarely if ever does to slower User players.

Thanks for the sliders guys, I'm mainly interested in Career Mode and starting in League Two (England) and working my way up, I want a hard fight and not win promotion year on year and then win the Prem at the 2nd time of asking (happened in FIFA13!).
I'll have a fiddle with some of your sliders and see what happens :)

please people, i'm desperately in search of a way to set the game to play with a half lenght different that those allowed by the game. pc version. is it even possible? i tried cl.ini, no luck.

i tweaked my sliders and they feel perfect, i'd really want to not have to touch them. the problem is the scores they produce are too high for 15 minutes and too low for 10 minutes. i registered here just to open a thread asking for this and see if someone could help. but i have no privileges to open a thread, oh damn.

What are you doing exactly because it works for me. Unless the full game doesn't allow it (I'm still playing the demo).

EDIT: Your cl .ini file should look like the file on the right, the one on the left is a notepad file.

the file i created is definitely an ini file. it has the right icon.

i just wrote HALF_LENGHT = 12 in the file. i tried both with and without SKIP_BOOTFLOW = 1 (the skip bootflow line actually works, it goes directly to the arena, but half lenght doesn't). i tried 10 instead of 12 just to see if it would work for the "normal" half times of the game and nothing happened also. i tried HALF_SECONDS = 720 instead of the minutes: nothing.

perhaps it's just the demo. damn, it looks like such a simple thing. isn't there any tool that can edit this?

Try using DBM 12, open the fifaGameSettings table and edit the halflength value. That's how I got the demo to 15 min.

hello
i want to play fast like in fifa 13. is there any possibility to use sliders to reach that?
my wingers compared to cpu defenders are really slow for example Walcott isn't so fast like in fifa 13.

i love setting the line and length heights to 10 for both user and cpu, creates great midfield play and you always have defenders back due to everyone being so compact.

and it helps out with the overwhelming number of counter attacks as sometimes your forwards are so caught up in defending that you may have a mid up higher than a forward and you are forced to play hold up until better attacking players come to support.
