You gotta be kidding me, career mode is exactly like in fifa 17, with the addition of those worthless cutscenes.
If GalaxyMan does not perform a miracle and releases an editing tool, this will be the last fifa I buy for some time.

I am thinking that those cut-scenes will be cool, for the first 3 negotiations, then it will just be annoyingly repetitive.

As far as I know. His editing tool will not allow us to edit the INI configuration files for Career files. So that is a killer for us.

Other than that, unless he produces some magic and allows us to dig into the blueprints (if they use them for career mode) we are struggling to really improve career mode.

Atleast you can play FiFA without having internet connection.

PES requires internet connection to start the game everytime. And in internet nightmare countries like mine, its pain in the ass to be not able to play a game I bought cause I dont have Internet connection. .

I believe you all know untill now, we will have no Signal Iduna Park and Mestalla in fifa 18, another "huge" deal for Konami and a real negative aspect for EA.
This seems like a cold war between these two, with only one outcome...both suffer in the eyes of the buyers with no real service to either.
I dont't think that pes users will go insane with joy when they find they'll have exclusivity for Sigan Iduna,. With no license over german league, this is just a drop of water in the ocean, while for fifa fans, this is really upsetting, playing for many years withs these stadiums and same goes with Fluminense and Flamengo, etc....why, what's the point Konami and EA?
And I think there will be more bad news to come.

Another reason why modding is necessary, good thing there are finally some progress. Maybe we can just convert the stadiums from FiFA 17 but who knows what will happen.

Right.
And the ones that really suffer the most are the ones who get caught between this license deals: US, the fans. Doesn't matter which game you support, you'll still lose something.
It's ridiculous. I wish there was something we could do so both games could compete fairly. No license exclusivity. Nor over leagues, or stadiums. Neither over kits or player names or teams.

That has gotten out of hands.
There should be some kind of entity regulating this. We pay A LOT of money every year, and the thing is: Both companies should be focusing strictly on game features and most importantly... GAMEPLAY and not so much on how can one company screw over the other one the most. They waste time, money and resources on something that should be either available to both of them paying the same fee or completely for free so they can focus on making a real football game with lots of content.

Unfortunately, here comes into the scenes the greed of clubs and leagues. which for a little extra coin give exclusivity, so the main blame is with the clubs not the producers, but indeed, a competent entity could regelement this, though I doubt it, given all the money involved.
Could you imagine a game, fifa or pes, with all the licenses free for leagues, teams, stadiums, it would be shocking, with the size more than 1 TB, and probably very much moddable, since the main concern of the producers are licensing rights which translates nowadays in a very difficult to mod game.

First demo impresions:
-lighting is good in sunny day, not so during night,
-confetti on turf, I can not blieve it,
-game speed is ok, not too fast, players do not move like lightning, they seem close to reality,
-crosses are slower and more efficient, now you can actually really choose the destinatar.
In rest, it just looks like an upgrade of fifa 17. which may not be a bad thing, and my pc, which is medium, runs it very good, while fifa 17 had a few lags, although my specs are over the recommended ones.

The demo is nothing more than a touched up 17. I will agree with the weight of players but the pace of the game itself is still up and down the pitch.
There is no midfield play at all and I have yet to see a team play differently or what they claim as "Team Styles".

Defending is still atrocious at best and it is obvious the only aspect of the game they want to tend to is goal scoring. Disheartening knowing that multiple AI codes
can be run in the same game as 17 has Men's and Women's AI. No reason they can't have an online AI and a simulation AI for offline modes.

"Tactical Defending" is anything but tactical and under normal circumstances bad defending and decision making leads to fouls which the demo lacks but that
is nothing new to the FIFA series.

The visuals are very nice but the LODs are still bad and need much work considering the capabilities of Frostbite.

The demo is usually 100 times better than the retail release but this time around I'm not too impressed. Maybe this means the good stuff will come with the
retail release but I wouldn't be surprised if it did and then was ruined by EA patching back to the same ole, same ole.

Hmm, does this screen look good for career mode?
I've made a quick scan with strings64.exe and so far the following .ini *relevant for career-mode files pop-up:
Code:
Line 2001697: fifasetup\fifasetup_default.ini
Line 2001698: fifasetup.ini
Line 2002173: Data/locale.ini
Line 2002174: Data/testbedteams.ini
Line 2002175: Data/product.ini
Line 2002176: Data/game.ini
Line 2002178: Data/kit_locale.ini
Line 2021571: osdkdebugmanager.ini
Line 2106429: dlc/dlc_FootballCompEng/dlc/FootballCompEng/data/simsettings.ini
Line 2106434: dlc/dlc_FootballCompEng/dlc/FootballCompEng/data/commentaryweights.ini
Line 2106765: dlc/dlc_FootballCompEng/dlc/FootballCompEng/data/training_drill_attributes_list.ini
Line 2106781: dlc/dlc_FootballCompEng/dlc/FootballCompEng/data/training_result_converter_vpro.ini
Line 2106782: dlc/dlc_FootballCompEng/dlc/FootballCompEng/data/training_result_converter.ini
Line 2125723: dlc/dlc_FootballCompEng/dlc/FootballCompEng/data/concurrent_match.ini
Line 2127604: data/teammanagement/managerai.ini
So far it seems some things may been moved (transfer.ini, transfers.ini, playervalues.ini, etc.) and a few things are still in the dlc folder.
We can't say for sure when the games comes out on 21 September, so I'm not going to create false hope.
It seems EA uses a different encryption for Initfs because I'm unable to open this file, hope someone can crack the encryption of this file (Shawminator, GalaxyMan2005).

-----

Oh and my thoughts about the demo.. it sucks, it's way to easy and keepers don't do anything at the moment. Is it true that the demo version is older then the beta?

I`m 80% convinced to try pes18 this year. Honestly, i don`t like fifa18 demo and knowing how it was last year the full game will be worse than demo.

This doesn't necessarily mean anything as most of the data may be contained in a single file.

The structure is full on Frostbite, there are no more legacy files which means modding may be possible as long files can be manipulated and tools are coded.

Also for me demo busted, old old playing mechanics, no team style, mah ...

Let's see the full game.

Everyone knows the retail is always worse than the demo, it is time to come to the realization that this game is being made to keep the FUT players happy.
