Curious about something, it seems different mods are supposed to work on different update versions. How are you supposed to ONLY update to a certain update number when you install?
That WC update I downloaded last week was 3 hours, and you have said your internet is very slow so 12 hours sounds right, right? Or am I right?
What the actual fuck? I got a update available to download. While it was preparing update, the file size was somewhere around 700 MB but after download started, its downloading the whole game?

Don't know if you're serious or just trolling.
Clearly 700 MB wouldn't take 12 hours on a 800 KB/s speed. It takes like 12+ hours when I download the whole game, and right now it's downloading the whole game for an update. And haven't played FiFA 18 for last 2 weeks, so maybe the update is old and I'm just downloading it now.
I suspect this happened because I edited lods using file explorer.
Few weeks ago, I deleted the exe file of FiFA 15 [And pasted a backup exe back on the folder] and the play button on origin was replaced with "Download" button [And "repair game" vanished too]. So I had to download the whole game again.
I think the exact same thing is happening with FiFA 18, but this time just for editing a simple lod.

I was offering a suggestion, christ. But you already knew the answer: you modded the game, Origin didn't recognize the modded files, and so it downloaded the whole game. So what was your post all about?

Nah I don't mind the motion blur on FiFA 17, 18. It kinda looks okay.
Yeah it's downloading the whole game now. But back with FiFA 15, 16 the game didn't download everything when I edited db and lods.
You might say that with CG File Explorer 18, it makes changes in the real files [unlike fifa 11~16] but if that was the case, then I would have download the whole game twice when regularcat gave me the edited lod files. But back then, updates downloaded only around 2 GB [Downloaded only what I modified].
But now it's downloading the whole game instead of redownloading only modified files.
Well just in case, whenever I update, I rename my current folder FIFA 18x, reinstall a copy of my back up FIFA 18 folder, and update that. Double safeguard.

Guess I will do that too from now. Already had FiFA 18 on my backup usb hdd but didn't bother to paste it back on my install dir.
I guess I have to pay the price of redownloading the whole game no. But yeah, only 10 hours left.
In the meantime, I will play FiFA 05. FiFA 05 has 3D grass so it's worth playing I guess.
You have to open CG File Explorer and select vanilla then update, if not Origin reads as if the game isn't installed.
Launch the tool, select the executable, then select none and untick "Load mod into Explorer", you will get a popup stating "default install Loaded" and then you can update.

Guys, I want to ask those of you who own a gtx 1080, do you have any issues with playing fifa 18 on 4k monitors? (loss of fps or other kind)
I'm in the middle of building a new pc and ofcourse, these days is seems that the most expensive part is the video card. I also might be enclined into waiting for gtx 1180 this august (if), but I mostly play fifa and I.m not yet sure if buying a latest top end gpu would be a good business.

Unless you're so rich you light your cigars with $100 bills... I bought GTX 1060 last fall on sale for less than half of what the 1080 costs, saved about $600. I have a tower and a laptop. The only thing I use the tower for is FIFA and ESO. The 1060 is more than enough for me. But I don't have nor care about 4K monitors, so...

I'm not rich, just saving money for more than a year and I believe that is better to make one big investment than more small ones often. And also recently came this 4k monitor free. So if I would play on my 1080 old monitor, I would take your advice on 1060 gtx but that is why I would like an opinion of a 4k monitor and 1080 gtx owner.
My current 760 2GB gtx is done for even on 1080p.
Anyway, that 1180 gtx to come is a real monster.
If the 1080 is $1000, that new card will be $1500+. Here's how I make purchasing decisions: I never buy cheap (Kia) nor expensive (BMW). I buy quality at a reasonable price (Honda). For me, the 1060 at $400 is a quality card at a reasonable price. The 1080 at $1000 is very expensive and over-priced. And buying the 1180 at release-day pricing is insanity lol.
Just IMO of course, people are always free to spend their money how they see fit. And if you have a 4K monitor, you obviously need the right hardware to make use of it.

Do you think it will be so expensive?
These days the 1080 gtx is somewhere between 500-600 euros and still it is said to be too much. The 1180 gtx is rumoured to be arround here too. Or at least I hope so.
Yes, I see it's dropped to $700 since last winter.
