FIFA 2003 Tricks

As far as I know, I read somewhere that there are 40 players with special moves of their own that they do in real life, however I think its just one move and one alone....

I know from playing Real that Roberto Carlos has one, Ronaldo, Figo, and Zidane are the other ones...in fact with Zidane I scored a jewel from a long shallow pass from Mcmanaman at center Zidane picks it up from behind himself around the right edge of the box, does the little spin and explodes between two defenders, then I tapped it just enough and shot it to the opposite corner....I have the replay if anybody wants it...

sorry, there are a bunch of people here that play the PC version, so i thought that's what you were using.

For PS2 Players:

after playing an entire game with Real Madrid, just screwing around with the freestyle controls, i found out a little bit about how to do the special moves, here's what i found out:

if your player has a special move, then most likely, they will do their special move if you make a circular pattern with the right analog stick. clockwise and counter-clockwise both work. (i think the move that the player does depends what foot the ball is on). if you are holding the sprint button (R1) then the freestyle controls WILL NOT work.

do what i did, and just play a game with Real Madrid, and spend the whole game just trying to figure out special moves, and the right analog stick. the people with the coolest moves are:

Figo
Ronaldo
Zidane

Zidane does a spin move (which everyone knows).
Ronaldo does a little thing where he puts his foot on the top of the ball, and rolls it forward.
Figo stops running, and plays the ball hard to his other foot and pushes it ahead.

i'm pretty sure that the 3 i mentioned above have multiple special moves, i believe that each of them have at least 2 special moves.

hopefully this helps some of you that didn't know much about the freestyle control.

Shoot when the keeper is moving -- you can catch him going the wrong way by kicking back to the far corner.
Move towards a pass if it looks like it might be intercepted.
Don't always sprint.
When two players are competing for a header, the one who goes up last will win, but don't be too late!
On a cross, the later you press the header button the more power you will get.
Use runs to get your striker ahead of his marker before crossing.
Avoid bringing defenders out of position

Some people have complained that you can't do 1-2 pass in fifa 2003 - thats not quite true. Most of you probably already now the move - but it's nice to now for those who don't:

To 1-2 pass:
1) Press "s" to pass the ball
2) Emediatly after that, press "s" again pointing in the proper direction to deliver the second pass

"2)" has to be done before the ball actually reaches the player that should make the 2. pass. The result should be a really nice 1-2 pass, that can prove quite effective in an attack The pass precision is lowered somewhat though, so be aware of potential interceptions!

Also, Roberto Carlos has moves I think I forgot to mention that....I think Davids from Juve, Giggs, and Beckham also have their own moves tho I haven't really tried,

and the pass was from Solari not Mcmanaman

hmm well i've discovered, all this stuff about pushing buttons to head or volley in crosses, appears to be crap, you don't need to push a damn thing.

just press the run button so your forwards get into position then tap the cross button and your winger will cross directly to the running player who will score without you even touching the pad.

i've tested this on world class with fifa assistant off, and it still does it. it's kinda put me off the game now, not really any skill involved.

same goes for defending corners. your players will do it themselves, you dont really get a say.

Actually, same goes for tackling.. even with assisted tackling turned off the ai players on your team tackle by themselves, and your player does too even if you dont push circle. Try playing against a human opponent without them pushing any buttons and watch how their players take the ball from you constantly..


All in all this is pretty much a partially interactive football management game, in the beginning i liked it but now i just think its crap.

what do you want the AI players to do? just stand there?

as long as you select the player that you are passing/crossing to, then you are in full control.

i wish i could, but i didn't bought the game like you and im sure that many other users in here didn't bought the game!
so i can't read the manual and learn how to do tricks and other cool stuff, but if you know a website that contains a manual i will be happy to read it. but since i still don't have any manual can someone plz tell me how to do tricks and all kind of other manuvers and how to do volleys and things like that, and also how can i use the HEADER button, sunce i don't know how!

to do a dummy all you have to do is pass it to a player and then make him run towards the ball it is a bit diffcult you have to press the direction when the ball is at a particular distance and also it depends on the pace of the ball if it is more you have to press the direction when it is at greater distance


to do a strong header and the ball is about to reach the player you have to press the header(w) button


and also please help me if someone knows how to attach an image

long long shot lone lone cowboy

well every1, not shure if mine can be counted as a trick, but i hav 2 tell someone (better everyone) bout my crucial freekick goal. itz not just puttin the circle on the point where the posts cross on top (very left top when you look at it directly), and not only getting the timiing just just rite on the mid of the GrEen part of the shot taker.
maN! i made this goal from nearly 30 or less yards away and near to the right sideline, from the MIDDLE OF THE PITCH!!!!
De Pedro came and came and took the shot, after all i noticed a white dot going to the nets behind the goalkeeper!
i was just between 'trying my LuCK' and 'umm Will it reaCH the keepeR?' , but it took 10 my 10 seconds to fully notice it was a goal! after watching the replay again and again anda again, i'm sure i won't be very able to score sumfin like that again! thanX ReaL soCieDaD , thanX de pedRo! magnifique goAL, wchih i will post to the REPLAYS part of fifa2003.com if they put sumfin like that again to the site like it as in Fifa2002 site. me myself,i rock!

btw, Nihat is well-below his real talent,and also Galatasaray iswith the old squad, guyz changed a lot,pew:/ Funniest of all, every1 knowz Ali Sami Yen of Gala is not 82000 seated! hehe itz just a 27000 seated place just after the bosphorus bridge on the left,while passing to europe in Istanbul.

wat do you mean by "if the pace of the ball is more then u have to press the direction when it is at greater distance"...
do you mean that if the ball is faster u would have to press even sooner than when it is slower?

I have made a couple of awesome freekicks with Beckham as well...

Has anyone noticed that Becks behaves almost exactly like he does in real life (as in the stance, running, passing, taking freekicks etc...)

I think they must have motioned captured him...
