Fifa 2004 is actually the best soccer game for consoles it has everything , the best graphics and licences , an excellent gameplay , good stadiums , and a lot of more things . Winning Eleven 7 stayed behind it doesn´t have a lot of things that fifa have.

Fifa2004 rocks my world:rockman::rockman:

PES3 is so over rated its not funny.

The passing & tackling are disgraceful and totally flawed. Quite often when you do a short pass it goes to a player in the other direction! the tackles are rendered useles by pissweak sliding that doesent pose a threat to the ball carrier.

Having tricks located on the right analog stick is obtrusive and making the game feel unorthodox and totally restrictive.

the lifeless graphics and player animation make the game a dull experience.

FIFA 2004 OWNS this game on every level.

Go play ISS Deluxe on snes and you will see just how bad this series has become.

??? You obviously need practice! Tackling is a skill which needs to be learnt. Now I know when to use a soft tackle, when to slide in, when to hack someone... if played properly, the system is very subtle... you can slide to block a shot... and definitely win the ball, whilst avoiding cards. It's all about the angle of approach.

I never use the R3 stick, unless I want to do the roulette move, or pass manually. All other dribbling can be done using R2, R1, and L1 combinations!

the lifeless graphics and player animation make the game a dull experience.

Ha ha... the close up FIFA players are zombie-like! As for animation, WE7 and PES3 have much better animation... read ANY online magazine review.... this is what they emphasise as one of Konami's main strengths. LOL...

AHHH but I am not a sheep I am going by what I see not what some magazine tells me...

Sure it might look good on a console but on PC it looks dreadfully plain and dull.

FIFA's overall gameplay is what sets it above PES3.
realistic passing is of great importance to me so I cant bare the automatic lame smart passes of PES3.

You should be able to put the ball exactly where you point the stick even if that means into space so a player can run on to it.

FIFA 2002 is the best soccer game to date so I'll just keep playing that and ISS Deluxe on Snes .

You can manual pass in PES3, not just auto. But fouls for slide tackles, admittedly is a bit screwy.

The thing is you fifa monkeys like an easy ride (with each other) (10-0 at half time) pro evolution is a skill to need to learn unlike fifa which a new born baby could pick up and play (its that crap) You need to practice on pes3 coz it aint easy (unlike fifa + ur mum)
I think more about the **** coming from my ass than i do fifa2000andpoor

your kidding urself buddy. pes3 requires that you repetivly do button presses over and over until you figure out how it works. Fifa requires a good football brain something most pes3 player's dont have.

LOL, If u get beaten by new born baby then that just shows how crap your soccer brain is and contradics what u say about it being easy.

Sure anyone can pick it up and play , thats how games should be but the better soccer player always wins in FIFA not the players who are most familiar with how the controls work.

The reason for the high scores in FIFA is because when ur in the comfort of your living room you can go on the attack for the whole game without getting tired.

Im sure if both players decided to play defensivly you would see lower scores fool.

Hell, FIFA 2003 is better than PES3!

Actually tackling is very realistic in PES, in FIFA you just have to push the tackle button and you always have the ball, In PES you have to time very good. For the passing, it's much more realsitic as FIFA, especially the players movement

:kader: It's not all about stupid licenses:kader:

I respect your opinion. I don't want to resort to a childish bickering match, but I have both FIFA 2004 and WE7 for PS2. I am not just going by magazine reviews. I play both games, and have to say that the tackling in FIFA is not very subtle. Whenever I press tackle in FIFA I always get the ball.

Also, when a defender challenges me from behind, I can tell that a FIFA "set animation" kicks in, and my player just freezes, and the player wins the ball. It's like my player has been hit with a tranquiliser dart! In WE7, you can actually shield the ball by switching to R2. A player coming from behind you will have no chance to win the ball fairly, and might foul you instead. This subtlety does not exist yet in FIFA, because of the animations, which are still too coarse-grained.

As for animations, I played WE7 after giving it a break for a while, and I have to say that in no other game I have played, is the overall player and ball mechanics so realistic.

I am not another fanboy. I do think that FIFA has improved ALOT, to the point that it is enjoyable to play, but deep down i still have an empty feeling once the razzamatazz wears thins. The presentation in FIFA is amazing, and the players look great FROM A DISTANCE... it's only on the replays and close ups where I feel the players look strange. You can tell where different parts of the body have been joined together, whereas the players in WE7 look like solid single entities. I realise that many like the "photo-realistic" nature of FIFA, but I feel this should not detract from the more consistent graphics of WE7.

Its not all about the graphics you know, sure FIFA 2004 looks crap but its passing and general gameplay is IMO better that PES3.

The tackling in FIFA is just as subtle and if you change the ref strictness you dont get away with ludicrous slides.

If your good enough at the game you can avoid being tackled.
FIFA's tackling is more realistic than PES3 provided you know how to avoid a tacle in the first place and if you set up the ref strictness to a level that suites.

I have mastered the art of tackle avoidance in FIFA so it takes a pretty well timed attempt the make me cough it up.

Like I said earlier It takes a good football brain to enjoy FIFA to the fullest not just hours of experience with its controls.
