Dear Ockham i think it would be nice to create uefa cup and champions league only in tournament mode with both their qualifying rounds 1st,2nd and 3rd...coz if we play the game through career mode or even only in tournament mode the groups are not real like in real life and the teams are mixed up..i hope i explained it well...
i tried to do it through tournament master but i messed it all up!thanks in advance!

Regarding the freezing problem in career, when transfers occur did you solve this by modifying every players contract to 7 years and shorten the career game to 7 years?

I put 3 players up for sale, no one bought them during the whole transfer window, and none of my offers for buying players myself was accepted?

Seems that the transfer market has been disabled to bypass the freezing bug, correct me if I'm wrong?

No, it's almost wrong, there some changements I had to do but not exactly as you write. I'm a bit busy now with the kits addon, I'll explain this with details later.

Yes you can


A great new for the future of CEP project: the grand-master Fifaccitiu, the real hard-coder of Fifa, found a way to resolve the fifa.fat limitation problem that has been discovered by Billy and encountered during kits addon realization: with the solution that the master found for this problem we will have the possibility to add all the leagues contained in releases plan and maybe much more: I have to personally thank Fifaccitiu for being not only the greatest "technician" I know for Fifa files structure, but a great person too, many of the technical achievements behind the CEP are the work of this master of EA files.

Thanks to this discovery I can release within hours the kits addon that will be another revolution for Fifa patches and add-ons feautiring something like 800 new kits with a simple exe clicking: no importing, no complex installation procedures: the best of Fifa artists in a single file.

Regarding the career problems segnalated by Billy, as I wrote many times the problem with career is the CPU management of transfer: EVEN the original game has these problems, after the 6/7 year of career, so you can imagine how much these problems are increased by the huge amount of new players that CEP involves. Let's see together the modifications done to career.ini inside the config.dat file that I did for the CEP, so each one will be able to do the modifications he wants but ON OWN RISK: CEP working is not assured for each single modification you do to career.ini settings.

Billy was disappointed by year limitation of career to 7 years: one of the main problem with career is the management of many rebirth players, teams that go under-sized for not enough players, huge amount of transfers to manage. Imagine that after 10 years of game almost all the players present in the database will be retired, so the CPU should recreat thousands of new talents, manage thousands of transfers to fill the teams with new players etc. etc. This will be DEFINITIVELY a reason of crashing, especially with 250 new teams and 6500 new players, this is way I put the following line:

NUM_SEASONS_IN_CAREER = 7

From my point of view is enough: you can choose to start from lower league trying to do a career cycle from the third division to premier league for example, or trying to gather the attention of teams with greater prestige etc. etc. and the CPU will not be force to create thousands of new players.

TRANSFER_MIN_TEAM_SIZE = 14
TRANSFER_MAX_TEAM_SIZE = 40

This the minum/maximum allowed size for teams in career: I lowered/raised it from the original to allow teams with retired players to keep playing without problems for the CPU (i.e. forced to do transfers).

PROB_OF_REBIRTH = 30

This was 100 in the original: a crazyness: the CPU will be forced to manage thousands of new players at year with this setting to 100; in combination with the 7 in num of years for career, this gives a good chance of new talents without having to screw the database.

MAX_PER_TEAM_SALES = 4
MAX_PER_TEAM_BUYS = 4

Number of sales/buys allowed for each team; limited alway for the same reason (limit CPU management of transfersmarket).

PROB_SELLING_RANDOM_PLAYER = 0

The probability of doing "random" transfers by the CPU; this should be the setting incriminated to do something like Eto'o to Ascoli or Ronaldinho playing in Korea. switched to 0 to limit CPU management of transfers.

PROB_BUYING_PLAYER = 0

I think this would be the only "problem" I could fix with transfers in career: what I suppose is that this regulates the chance of CPU to do transfers, not the player's one, but maybe I'm wrong, and I'll check. Franly I'm almost sure I bought effectively a player during my career, I'll recheck and if I'm wrong I'll se what happens raising this to 10 or 20.

BUYING_PLAYER_RATING_DIF = 10

Difficulty of buying a player, from 0 to 100.

PROB_BUY_FIRST_PLAYER = 20

Probability of buying the first player ofr each team.

SIGNING_CHANCE = 5

THIS should influence the probability of buying players by the player and not the CPU: it's the percentual of signing by a player you contacted. Actually is on 5%.

PROB_CPU_APPROACH = 80

Probability of CPU approach to your players, from 0 to 100: you'll receive many CPU offers with this setting.

PROB_SELL_TO_OWN_LEAGUE = 5

Percentual that a player is sold in the league in which he's playing.

PROB_LEAVE_CURRENT_COUNTRY = 1
PROB_PLAYER_STAYING_LOCAL = 2

Percentual the player will be sold to a team outside of his country/percentual to leave it.


So, for some conclusions: you can make the modifications you want to your career file, BUT I prefer to have a more stable game, than a more realistic one with many crashes: EA explained with a mail the way in which the CPU manages the transfers (using some tables in the db that are empty at the beginning): knowing how it does this, I'm sure that renouncing to a bit of transfermarket is the best way to assure a stability to the game; I repeat: even the original game has problem of managing the transfers. If you wanna try new setting these are the ones I suggest:


MAX_PER_TEAM_SALES = 7
MAX_PER_TEAM_BUYS = 7
PROB_SELLING_RANDOM_PLAYER = 0
PROB_BUYING_PLAYER = 5
PROB_BUY_FIRST_PLAYER = 40
SIGNING_CHANCE = 35

I'd leave NUM_SEASONS_IN_CAREER = 7 as it is, but of course you all can do what you want

Would be interesting, being occupied in other things related to CEP, if someon would try the new settings I pointed in the last part of this post, play a career and report wich sort of problems he encounters.

Now I go back to the kits addon that has to be released within minutes.

Man, if Fifaccitiu found a solution to the darn fifa.fat problem he deserves a statue.

I found out with my limited technical knowledge of the way the fifa program works, that the fatbhbuilders actualy rebuild the fat and bh correctly, even when fifa.fat gets superior to the crashing 325kb, but for some reason it seems the Fifa06.exe file can't load the fifa.fat file into memory once it reaches that size.

So to solve this problem Fifaccitiu had actualy to modify the Fifa06.exe file itself, no? Anyway I would die to know what was causing the crash and how he solved it, as this indeed opens a whole new perspective of adding even more leagues.

Concerning the career length, I will most likely play with the modified settings for a career length of 15 years (as default in original Fifa) and not the 25 years I planned. I imagine the calculation of regenerating new players for a huge database could work on a fast machine with a lot of RAM maybe? Anyway once there is a "near final" version of CEP I will play a serious career and I'll write you my observations.

Also, these last few days I've been a real bitch in some of my reactions and comments, I apoligise for that, sometimes I'm saying (in RL) and writing (on the internet) stuff that I don't really mean but come out when I'm angry, that is part of my "medical" condition, no worries I take pills for it lol.

I just pointed out that his patch is well done (although I don't give a crap about South American championships except for Argentina and Brasil), I even warn him beforehand of the crash he is about going to experience with the fifa.fat, so yeah I like the CEP patch, I even made ******* translations for it. But I say he should change his attitude asap, because dragging a well respected community site through the mud in his release notes testifies of a real childish behaviour, and it's not the first time, when taking kits here on the Soccergaming forum he even made a posts were we were all fascists (Sundsvall being our Führer even), and then crawling back when he ****ed up starting another fight at Fifamania lol. I personally give a crap about the southamerican leagues(being southamerican and all) and you might not understand this concept but its quite a large part of the world. I don't see a link in the CEP-download section to Rinaldo's "animation patch" as there was before, but I assume that as it's graphical, the final version will (like the previous versions) be compatible with CEP, not?

I found some problems related to gameplay installing Rinaldo animations patch: the game starts to be a bit too easy and with too many spectacular moves, this is way I removed the link from the suggested ones on CEP page.

I'm using the CEP011 (OckCEP011) and the update (OckCEP011fix with the kit thing.

I was trying to sign George Mourad from IFK Goteborg but kept getting the statement that Goteborg had to few players. So I went out, restarted the career mode, but before I did I placed 5 guys from the columbian league onto IFK Gote to bring their roster up to a point where they had enough players. After my second game I was able to get Mourad, but the game locked up. So now my game is locking up after the second game in career mode. Any help?
