FIFA-FAT Limitation in FIFA 08

I have imported my collected 1GF-faces archive (about 2000 faces) using the excellent FIFAFS 5.1.3. I imported them to newly created zdatas with numbers higher than EAs zdatas which now contain 500 files each.

I have deleted the flags, ingame logos and adboards from the zdatas and copied them to the FIFA 08 main folder as a workaround to the well known FIFA-Fat-limitation problem.

Now my FIFA-Fat is 285 kb (before it was about 235 kb, I guess). The FIFA-Fat limitation for FIFA 07 was 441 kb if I remember correctly.

Nevertheless now my game won't start any longer!

Any help appreciated!

I have tried deleting a few more files in the zdatas and running FIFAFS 5.1.3.
The FIFA-Fat is not getting any smaller.

Seems that the new Fat System has a limitation at 265KB.
I added some files and as Fifa Fat grew over 265KB my Fifa didn't start anymore.

Hope someone can solve this Problem

265kb only? Yet another reason for me to not switch to Fifa08 and stay with Fifa07 lol.

Assuming that the game engine is the same one than in fifa 07 ( for PC ) the fact that all the faces are in 2G now could explain this poor limitation...
If it's true I will be very difficult to add stadiums, new teams etc...yes, a good raeson to stay with a fully patched fifa 07

try this solution .
1) Put face file that are not in zdata originally (like new faces) in fifa 08 main directory
2) Delete all the file that begin their name with t212 etc etc, these file are useless.
3) move most banner files from zdata to fifa 08 main direcotry.

Soon other technical solution to have better quality kits without 2gk and other

Can we put the new faces anyhere else than zdatas??I think good programmers should come forward to solve this problem.May be they produce new script of adding faces without using zdatas.Plz someone come forward to solve this problem otherwise we will not be able to play with the beautiful faces that facemakers are making.

putting banners into the FIFA 08 main folder and deleting all the t212__*_*_*****.fsh-files works fine so far, it reduces the FIFA.Fat a lot. However you CAN'T put ingame logos (t122_*****) into the FIFA 08 main folder, it crashes the game during startup.

Unfortunately putting new added faces into the FIFA 08 main folder DOES NOT work for me. The new faces are NOT recognized, that means the players still have there generic faces.

@amifla: are you sure that putting new faces into the FIFA 08 main folder works for you?

crappy game, fifa 08 seems to have a lot of limitions in editing, i hope you can solve it, even though in fifa 07 it couldn´t be done. A great deal of the fun on this games is the possibility of changing things. Sad, i will stay with fifa 07

Can someone confirm that the fifa.fat limitation for FIFA 08 is only 265K?

The person who posted earlier only stated that his fifa no longer worked with a larger fifa.fat, but it did not sound like he removed some files to get fifa.fat lower to confirm the problem.

Is anyone running successfully with a fifa.fat over 265K?

solution using FIFAFS 5.1.3:

1. export all banners (flags) and adboards into the FIFA 08 main folder.
2. delete all banners (flags), adboards and t212-files from the zdatas.
3. FIFA-Fat has reduced drastically which allows me to import my faces.

will u plz tell me how can u add faces in fifa 08 because i try to install the faces with biggui but when i subsitute the edited the new comer player loses his texture and ike a draculla while some of the other players get their whole body white i have installed alot of faces in fifa 07 but thing never happened will u plz tell me where i can i put the files of faces in fifa 08 in order to get the game work fine.

faces problem

i create a new zdata name zdata_44 with biggui and import 1gf faces of fifa 07 in this folder i copy paste this folder into fifa 08 data folder then i rebuild with fatbh builder but this happen with faces
