FIFA "GAMEPLAY UPDATE" 06 - Next release.

Latest Info!!!!:

So my last update is pretty difficult...right? I have just taken the latest code for my new World Class difficulty and made it so that Semi-Pro is now harder than my released update's World Class difficulty! This means that Semi-Pro difficulty will be harder than World Class in the update you're playing currently and Professional, World Class and Legendary difficulty modes will be much, much harder to score and win matches. Beginner mode is easier, but still challenging in its own right, just allows the noobs to get used to the game, while still having to try ;)

Practice mode may come in handy guys,
NK.

Looks like PlusNet have taken away my right to download and upload from my server since I exceeded the bandwidth rate or something along those lines. So now I have to wait and hopefully it'll be up for when mu update is ready to be released!

It will be ready very soon!

Other than that it gets harder to win what would you say are the the most important dfferences(or improvementes if you consider the so) that your new patch will bring?

WARNING: Long reply! :jap:

Well, first of all there is a much more 'balanced' feel to the play of the game. It's harder for both you and the CPU to go from one end of the field to the other, although on occasions you obviously get quick breaks, it does take good build up play and tactics to score great goals. The goalkeepers are highly skilled, but not perfect due to new tuning. I believe the game to be difficult for more of the right reasons rather than 'CPU is at a constant advantage' you can actually score goals like the CPU, it just takes skill! I have had some amazing shots at goal that have hit the crossbar and I have been gutted because it's the type of shot the CPU does from a great position or tactical pass. I lost on semi-pro 1-0, which shows that a learning-curve to the new gameplay is required and although the difficulty is evident to increase from semi-pro to World class/legendary difficulty modes, it isn't to a case where the game becomes 'difficulty unplayable' in terms of 'CPU score with every shot, user can never hit the target'. One new area I will point out is penalty kicks, its sooo much more diverse now. Just because your keeper gets his fingers to the shot now, does NOT mean it won't go in and the balls physics is so much better than the last version, this is what I believe. In any case of 'ball physics' there is always a self preference, I find, that makes it difficult for me to please everyone. I have however played PES5 on the PC and noticed that my ball physics lean more towards that game than a fast-past, retro FIFA 99 game with a heavy ball and pin-ball passing.

The ball is freer than before; you can kick the ball out too far in front of you and lose control much easier. Tackling is slightly less 'perfect' and you feel a sense of 'freedom' while kicking the ball around. It definitely feels more like football. You can put together some lovely plays, but you have to be good, even if you score a goal and think 'that's it, I've won', which yes you may think since games are so much tighter now, the CPU will however pressure and attack you, and push to break your defence. They won't try the same thing over and over either; they will be dynamic in the way that they play. I am still working on the CPU tuning, tweaking them ever so slightly, keeping the balance and keeping it challenging and fun to play.

I truly am enjoying this update and can't wait to get it out to you guys and read your feedback!!

Also, with the new balancing of the game and the difficulty, it is possible to have realistic scores and play for a much longer game than before. Have a 1-0 loss in a 20 minute match! Feel the pressure.

I've watched that video you've posted NK

overall the patch is 9/10 very good patch that im really impressed with

jst heres how you can improve
1.Youre already working on ball physics which is needed, i think the ball is a bit too much stuck to the players feet

2.cpu play: maybe you could work on the cpu holding on to the ball more and building and attack, instead of rushing into an attack like that(it could be its just how brazil play in the game)

3. I notice there wasant many fouls, I do think you should lower the cpu's tackling skill and the users aswell

4.(this isant your fault its ea's) Make sure you edit the players attributes for more realisum, ea's default ones are poor and very arcade like.

maybe just slowing the speed down a tad will help, im not moaning about the speed cuz ill just put it on slow anyway

hope it helps, snopp

20 minute matches!

Here are my results after a 20 minute game, which I lost. I am yet to win a match! It's becoming very difficult. The CPU didn't foul cause they had no reason to, they went in for some slide tackles, but I escaped. I think if I had put them under more and more pressure they would have become more aggressive with me. They actually started to piss me off and I was the one purposely fouling Barcelona!! It was great how they made me feel anger from the match. Although they had 3 shots with 2 on target and it's clear that both shots on target went in...that is NOT the case with every CPU shot on target. Some matches, like the one I had before, the CPU had 5 shots in the match and 0 on target! They beat me in penalties.

I think the true test would be playing someone like Macclesfield or someone in football league 2 with anyone from the Premiership, and see if you can dominate. Close games are fine with two 5 star teams playing, but if you cant control the ball and beat a 1 or 2 star team with the likes of manchester united or arsenal or chelsea, then the gameplay might be a little to hard. Im all for hard, but 'frustrating' games should only come every so often, not no matter who you play, good or bad.

I think that was one of my major gripes with your first release. During the opening rounds in the champions league. I had some breaks that the defenders on the opposing team caught up too, and stopped. Not a problem if it was terry from chelsea, but it was john doe from football league two with a pace of 55 to 70, catching my strikers (rooney & v. Nistelrooy) with paces of 92 and 86 respectively. They should NEVER catch those strikers.

Cheers

The game is simply challenging. It's best to play on a lower difficulty mode if it becomes too frustrating for you. The lower modes will offer a good challenge now too, so it won't be a walk in the park and you can still feel happy with your victory.

No no, that's my point. I think the 'frustration level' should vary by the team played, not the difficulty played on. Like, say, I play as manchester united against chelsea. That game should frustrate me cause I cant get anything going attack wise, therefore win or lose 1-0 on a mistake.

But, if I play someone not of manu caliber (like Macclesfield) then I should be frustrated because I had a chance to score a hat trick but blew the header or shot it wide. NOT because they are matching my players skill wise. Does that make sense? Things should definitely play more heavily on player attributes than what level I'm playing on.

Sorry if that was confusing, and if anyone else understands what I'm saying and can explain it better, please do so. Also, please dont take this as 'free negativity' towards you, this is just my opinion.

Cheers

In the cpudiff (i think its called that) have you edited the tackling level so the cpu foul more

I should decrease the chance of the cpu making clean tackles

which should add more dead balls, spice and bookings which is what your patch needed in my opinion
