lol why are people asking that he doesn't include January transfers? It should be in real time, why would you want for example Haaland still at Salzburg, when he's at Dortmund in real life? Let the guy work in peace, for god's sake.

Harry, please don't listen to these people and take whatever time you need, it's better if you do the latest transfers right away, cause if you don't you just know those same people who are saying don't do the January transfers now will then be all over you asking when the January transfers are coming...you can't please everyone. But it makes sense to do all the latest transfers, even if it does take a week or so longer to wait! Don't listen to those people who are incapable of waiting and thus want the update not being completed and like it should be!

I get your point but no one is saying that Harry should not include the January transfers. The suggestion was simply to have both transfer versions just like the HBZ 18/19 mod which is really cool & i dont think Harry has an issue with that judging from his response. Otherwise, we're all patiently waiting for the release whenever Harry feels his ready.

No, I'm ok with releasing a version with pre-winter transfers because of the Czech league. Their winter window doesn't close until the 22nd February so there definitely won't be a release until after that. The db I will release will be very similar to FIP16.

Then, please go for a pre january transfer, for the first release and then include the whole thing in the future updates!

I won't lie I'm a bit desperate and excited for this! Tho, it's completely on Harry to decide, what to include and what not to..

Because Career Mode starts in July and not in January perhaps?
I find it way more sensible to start a career in July with July rosters than starting it in July with January ones (considering also that the January window cannot be turned off).

This is a valid point. I mean, it won't be me and you can take this for granted, but it may actually happen.
I'm sure that Harry knows how to deal with prople asking and demanding and never being happy with what we've got, though.

I didn't wanted to dive into this conversation, but I see the opinions whether it should be "July Transfers" or "January transfers" release, are quite divided. I think the mod can be released with the initial July transfers. There are few noticeable transfers in January, but anyone could add them with CM himself. The January transfers can be released in future update anyway.
I guess this is not the only reason the mod is on a hold for now.
Harry, I suggest you to make a poll for voting what mod people prefer to have - July transfers with future update to January transfers or wait until February 22nd for a fully updated transfers.

Considering 22nd February is now only 2 weeks away anyway, It would be sensible to actually don't release anything at all until then, and use that time to really work out all the kinks and make sure everything in the mod works like it should, and he can even update all the January transfers until then, since there was quite a lot of movement, so it's a bit more work for sure...but then after the last transfer window closes, do the remaining February transfers, which can't be a lot of work left, since the window is still open only in a few countries beyond January.

I really don't have a problem waiting a week or two more when I know when I can expect it, rather than getting an incomplete mod a bit earlier and then waiting and not knowing, when the update with all the January transfers comes out again. It's like Harry said, FIFA 14 is a very small part of our lives, since most people who play FIFA, play the newer ones. I don't imagine many people sitting around, refreshing this thread every day multiple times and going crazy because nothing has been released.

Now if the difference was a month or two, it would be different, but two weeks up or down...is it even worth releasing twice when he can use that time to improve the mod even more, since we know something is bound to not work properly after the first release anyway, so why not double and triple check on all things, so that there wouldn't be any problems at all? And he can do the majority (all the January transfers) already anyway, it's just about waiting on those few transfers in February, on which he has to wait until after 22nd February, and those can be then done in a matter of one day, so he can have everything but the February transfers ready until 22nd February, and then when the window closes, he just does the few remaining (February) transfers and can basically release the full mod the very next day, instead of releasing without January transfers on let's say 18th February, but then having to wait for him to do all the January and February transfers until early March. But that's just me, i guess.

And then how will you make all the right transfers happen in January? Or will you just let random transfers happen instead of the real ones? And no, January window (in fact every other future window) CAN actually be shut off too (cmsettings in the dlc file), so if you have all the January transfers already included in July, you can then shut off transfers for example for the whole first season and have the actual real life transfers for the whole first season (or even for more time if you choose so).

Yes, it takes away those first 6 months of players playing at their old clubs, but in real life that's behind us anyway, so isn't it better to have for example Haaland for the entire season at Dortmund, where he is right now in real life, instead of having him in Salzburg for the whole first season or even just until January like in real life, but then he goes to some random team in January, not Dortmund? Cause the real life transfer actually happening in FIFA is like a million to one shot, if not more. So it's way better to do it manually and just have the players start playing for their current clubs 6 months early than they did in real life, when they came to their new clubs in January.

Guys, I don't know why you are debating what I should and shouldn't do. I've already said what I am doing. There is no further discussion required. So please don't waste your energy.

By releasing the mod earlier, I can receive feedback from more people. There are some very, very eager people in this thread and I expect these people will be the ones who are also very eager to give me very useful feedback to fix any issues in future releases.

As for winter transfers just because the last transfer window closes on the 22nd that doesn't mean I will release on that day or the following day. It doesn't work like that. I have to send the file to FI to upload, I am not in control of that stuff. Also, I might not be able to work on the mod at that time. So from this moment onwards, I will not be mentioning any release dates.

Yes, the mod will feel light in comparison to what I want to release, but there is a combination of not being able to work on the mod for months, not knowing what is in the db until the other modders where finished, new software to test, lots (and I mean lots of) different data from FIFA 20 which took weeks to convert for FIFA 14 and a serious amount of effort put into making sure that the additional leagues will work.

This mod has been very, very time consuming for me.
