Yes, because it would be during our campaign to win something that matters like the EPL or FA Cup.

Yeah, but eventually you play those games anyway. The tourney only lasts 1 week so you would only be missing 1 game, 2 if the FA Cup is being played that week.

The trip is tiring to Japan and back, on top of several games.

You risk an injury in an unnecessary tournament, which could derail everything in all the other tournaments that actually mean something, and you have to play extra games. Look, Liverpool have already played 6, 7 more games then most teams because of their situation in the CL and now this?

Just a revenue raiser this.

I really wish there was a J-League Team here . :(

Japan would totally go insane then (Look for just the Semi finals and the oppening game to be sell outs <Sao Pablo is = to Liverpool in Worldwide recognition....they'll sell out for sure)

Also if Liverpool loses 4-0 to Sao Pablo......all of a sudden they "didnt try"?

Personally, I dont care who wins and I really dont like Sao PAblo.....but Ill still cheer for them only because I want to see Lugano kick ass before he goes to Madrid this Christmas. :D

It's not like Liverpool really care if the bambis beat them... they won't go in like south americans do for this game, simply because as you can see here, most europeans don't give a damn about it, and Liverpool don't have any south american player in their squad... even if Liverpool win 5-0, it's not like they were giving it their all, like they did at the CL final...

and I'm guessing the bambis would be majority in Japan... the guys there do like Sao Paulo, and I'd say they'll be supporting the bambis... not so sure about Sao Paulo = Liverpool in worldwide recognition though...

I wish this tournament would be taken serious!

I mean its a freakin great idea. all the winners to decide whos the best. The right way.

Cut a week off the schedules so this tournament can happen in my opinion is a great idea. It would be nice if THIS WAS THE tournament for clubs to win.

Just an idea though the xenophobic want to stay in their country.

I am really excited about this tournament. I am going to try watching as many games as possible. Can some one explain why the teams got seeded as they did?

well, there are 6 teams, so the only other way would be to put them in 2 groups of three, the winners advancing to the final, but it'd mean the finalists would have to play 3 matches... the way it is, Liverpool and Sao Paulo play only 2 matches, and it won't interfere as much in their calendar... or they could make it the way they've done before, but it'd take much more time... 2 groups of 4, then final...

To state the obvious because of World ranking the European and South American champions play two games while the rest may play 3 depending on whether they go through.

It just kind of bothers me that the winners of the first matches will already have 90' on their legs going in to face Liverpool and Sao Paolo.
