As you all know Kaka won the fifa world player of the year award. He deserves it but what i dont understand and disagree with is.....

3. C.Ronaldo


What the hell was that....How did Leo Messi have a better season than ronaldo?? Yes...there were a few moments here and there where messi showed his class. But other than that he's yet to propel barcelona to any major title. This fella is way too hyped. As i said before, players like drogba and totti had much better season than him. Now i know why some people dont even regard this award highly.

I bet Ronaldo's "reputation" was factored in as well. FIFA prefer South Americans anyway.

I guess a lot of national team managers and captains hate Ronaldo for being too good for their little defenders to handle. Oh well, who cares.

Kaka fully deserves the award. I agree tthat C. Ronaldo should have gotten 2nd place. What he did at home to Roma last year. (Y)

This year Messi has been superb, alone he has lifted Barca out of countless games, last year, no, I dont think either one of them should have been that high up there...

Three brilliant footballers who have been in breathtaking form for well over the past year. All three have destroyed some excellent teams almost on their own and have been amazing to watch.

When you factor in the amount of games they play per season their performances are even more impressive, as many teams single them out as threats and put 2, even 3 players to man mark them specifically and they consistently rise to the challenge.

Yeah and Ronaldo pretty much took apart Chelsea's dominance as the world's best and gave Roma the humiliation of their lifetime. Barca didn't even make it to CL quaterfinals and not to mention the 2nd spot in La Liga. Don't kid yourself.


Messi is great and all, but his contribution being bigger and better than Ronaldo's? That's laughable, Ronaldo has better numbers than Kaka, nevermind Messi.

Whatever, don't take this as if i'm bitter, i really don't care about this, just funny how some international managers and captains rated him lower than the other two because of his reputation.

This is a sh*t award! It's purpose is to get the gullible few (who believe in it.....YOU guys) to start agruments like the kind that always occur when it (an individual award in a TEAM sport) is handed out. Other than that, it is USELESS! Peer pressure...North American sports have an MVP so this sport should have the equivalent....on a global scale. It's such a laughable trohpy.....

Also, George Weah (Liberia) won it in what 1995. Was there an African Nations Cup back then or did he just win it for his time at AC Milan? The international factor may or may not be relevant. Here's a newsflash......FIFA chickens out and goes with the most popular/in-the-news/popular/selling the most jerseys player at the time, and this would not be the first time it happened..the last time Zidane won it.

Oh, a scandal, how come <insert fav player here> hasn't won the award? He is miles ahead of <insert name here>, and I won't even start talking about <insert name here>.

<Fav player> just single handedly led <insert team here> to global domination, while <name here> couldn't even reach the Intertoto first round.

<Fav player> wasn't chosen as the best player because he doesn't play in Sri Lanka, and we all know Fifa prefer those who do.

Get real people, three awesome players, all of them had terrific years. There's not much anyone can say about any of them being in the running, and it's not like Cisse has won it either.
