Fifa 2006 (X-Box) Review
- EA Sports comes good with the best game in the series!

The Skinny:
• The best Fifa game ever and a good pick up & play alternative to Winning Eleven. (Yeah, I said it)
The Good:
• Manager Mode ****s all over Winning Eleven’s Master League
• Fantastic TV-style presentation & commentary
• Solid, entertaining quasi-arcade gameplay
• Tons and tons (and tons) of teams and leagues
The Bad:
• Ball physics still a bit dodgy
• Not enough variation in CPU play
• Players look like zombies
• Still not nearly as much depth as a certain other soccer game

we9 Ball physics are a disgrace and the reason I gave up on it - the WE9 ball is like an Ice Cube on a wood floor...it's absurd....blocled shots fly 25 yards....No crowd....slow players - now SuperStar unique moves...The game sux....Shindig said:

The growth of the WE community is proof enough that people are becoming more cynical about the FIFA series.
After two seasons of (world class) managerial mode I know exactly how 95% of my goals will be scored. Inevitably, it'll be a through ball in the middle of the pitch, or yet another perfect cross from the wing. I stopped playing WE after FIFA06 came out, but with the new WE demo I think i'll quit FIFA again and just wait for the next WE/PES.
I'm not quite sure how anyone could possibly consider FIFA less scripted than WE.
Looseball situations are clunky, and always won by the player who is lucky enough to have their ball/player preset animation begin before the opponent. Crosses always have beautifully arcing trajectories to the centre foward. Is it even possible to squib or mi**** a ball? (I've launched a few wide of the area, but even then the flightpath of the ball looked pretty darn amazing.)
Anyone who has played with a modern ball knows that they are small, hard and round. They stick to the carpet and are bloody alive when hit with any kind of decent force.
At the slowest speed FIFA becomes reasonably playable, but even then the physics and ball motion are way off. FIFA is still ok for arcade players, but people who demand a little realism from their games will stick to WE.

FIFA is quite bad, first of all let me list the things that make the game such a waiste of money:
Fouls don't exist unless you slide someone meaning it is as easy as hell to win the ball, more like rugby than football really considering you keep hounding them till they lose it, never seen this happen in real life once.
The passing is not only innacurate, but also weak, unless a player is 3 yards infront of you the pass won't reach you unless you master the game.
The shooting, hell I thought the shooting on PES was shocking, it is 10x worse in FIFA, they are always the same, no power, curling like a Carlos FK and it is like a women is kicking the ball, utter rubbish.
The ball is huge, the physics are a laugh, you barely miss a header from a corner/cross.
Now onto the worst thing, the keepers, when my cousin sparked up the game I was almost in tears, the keepers are absolutely diabolical. They BARELY grab anything, they ALWAYS punch it out, I mean overall they are just unbelievable. Yet again I thought they sucked in PES4 but this takes the biscuit.
The graphics, now people say FIFA graphics beat PES graphics, well in my opinion one word sums that statement up: bollocks. Most of the players look NOTHING like them, the textures are just dire, everything about the graphics in my opinion is just wrong. PES on the other hand has crystal clear graphics, so you choose what is better.
Only thing I did like about the game was the manager mode, and even that had its flaws, for example Robben and Ronaldinho appearing on the transfer list right at the start, as if that would EVER happen.
All in all the game is just like every FIFA game after 98, rubbish, they are even that desperate they need to rip the controls that PES use.
So yea, the game rocks!

PES don't go OTT, when you think about it. X sticks a player's foot out. If you time it wrong, you commit a foul. It's how the system should be, really. It's just that everyone's timing is wrong due to the old method of hammering X all the time.

i played fifa full version.
And the game is so piss easy.
First i played on semi pro and all my matches i won like 4/5-0 and the cpu had on avarage 3 shot on my goal and i had around 20 per match.
Then i tried world class. Not much of a difference, the only change now is that the cpu man marks you players more. But the attacking ai is soo poor. Its so easy to defend.
And when you play with 2 strikers and 1 attacking midfielder right behind, you are almost invincible. Because the ai cant defend this properly, when you attacking midfielder has the ball the other defenders rush to him leaving at least on of the strikers unmarked. You press trhoughpass and your striker is 1on1. So damn easy. I score at least 3 goals a match in worldclass.
And i never played fifa much, only fifa2003.
And the crosses are also easy. I just press the button and 80% of the time my striker will head it and most of the time it will go in.
And the battles in midfield are like kids playing football all players clutch together to try to get the ball, its like a scrimage.
Also what i dont like is that you can shoot from every posssible angle. Even when your back is against the goal. The player makes and 180 and shoot with great accuracy like he has no gravity laws. Same goes for passing, its to easy too pass around.
The physics are soo poor, long balls and especially shots on goal. The ball seem to float too the goal and when the keeper saves, its like he held down a rocket, very weird.
All in all if you compare this to pes5demo, fifa06 is very very unrealistic. Yes pes has it flaws in being realistic, but fifa06 has way way more.

ML does suck, people only play it because it is either that or a cup, and I guess everyone likes to build a dream team, which you can't do in a cup. I have actually yet to see someone who loves the ML. Only good thing about it is the fact you buy players.
