A few days ago, there was a thread started by KRAL1905 about a 3D patch he made for those who are stuck at 640x480 resolution. I was having the same problem with my NVIDIA RIVA TNT graphics card, but I somehow solved this problem myself, WITH a little help from my friend KRAL.
This is what KRAL told me to do: Go to http://www.fifa2000.net and click Downloads, on the left side of the screen, then Patches. Next, download the top 3D patch by Galah (366Kb). This ZIPfile contains a folder called 3DSetup. It's actually the 3DSetup that comes with FIFA 2000. I was told to copy the "new" 3DSetup folder over the new one, and, as a very pleasant surprise, I was suddenly able to select my resolution, which made me very happy. Nextly, after I chose 1024x786, which should definately work, I started up the game and found out that the downloaded FIFA2000-3DSetup DOES NOT INTERACT WITH FIFA 2002. No matter what resolution I chose, in the game it would still be 640x480. Then I looked a little further....
In the 3DSetup.ini from the downloaded patch there are configuration lines for each video card (Also in the FIFA 2002 3DSetup.ini) but the parameters are different from the ones in the FIFA 2002 3DSetup.ini-file. I copied the NVidia RIVA line from the downloaded 3DSetup.ini to the original FIFA2002 3DSetup.ini, and I placed a # for the NVIDIA line that was already there. At this point, I had a valid, working and interacting 3DSetup, with the FIFA2000 graphics card configuration line for the NVIDIA RIVA TNT. And it works!! Finally I can play the best FIFA game yet on the resolution I want...
My guess is, that this doesn't just work for NVIDIA RIVA cards, but for all the others as well. I hope I helped you guyz and girlz out a bit, and I would like to express my thanks once more to KRAL1905, who has really helped me. !!
