A lot of Dutch people like Barcelona (quite logical actually, if you look to the recent history of the club)

Heh, yeah. They can all join Barca, warm the bench and get axed. Just like the many Dutch players of the last few seasons. Good stuff.

Well, Barcelona had great successes with Dutch players:rolleyes: The great Barcelona of Cruijff (as coach) and Koeman, and you can't say players like Kluivert were flops.

I cannot believe the arrogance in this thread " we don't need him", it's like YOU DO!!. I'd rather have Figo in midfield than players like Djemba, Bellion or Fletcher. United don't have the class in midfield that they had 3 years ago and it shows today. Yes they have young talent, but Figo would be perfect to help the youngsters along and it would raise there game by them fighting to get a first team place ahead of Figo. United's midfield is looking thin and with Chelsea and Arsenal having a superb strength in depth, Figo is what United need.

You can't say the EPL is more demanding just because it's rougher.

Spanish Primera is the hardest league in the world.

Manchester United Football Club laugh off Figo rumours

Sir Alex Ferguson has laughed off reports claiming Luis Figo is on his way to Manchester United Football Club.

The Real Madrid superstar has been linked with a £5million transfer to Old Trafford, yet Ferguson has poured ridicule over the tabloid rumours citing such a move.

"Figo did well in training this morning, I must say," joked Ferguson when asked about the possibility this morning (Tuesday) "Who wrote that one? I wish he was!"

Despite this denial, it is more than a slight possibility that the Premiership will be seeing Figo in the not-too-distant future – the Portuguese star is out of contract at the end of the season and has always harboured an ambition to play in England.

Hardest league in the world?, WRONG. You can't say La Liga is "tougher" because both leagues are tough for different reasons. For example, it's tough in Spain to win the league when four teams could win it going into the last two games, but it's tough in England to win the league when you got Arsenal winning all the time and teams behind are always doing catch up to beat them. Also tough when you got a team like Chelsea having a endless pit of money.

Beckham has played in both leagues and has said that he was so unfit because the trainning in Spain is less extensive than in England. It's a known fact that the EPL is alot quicker and alot more physical than La Liga...even Stevie Wonder can see that. But what La Liga does have over the EPL is that it's a far more technial league and produces slighty better quality.

Yes EPL is more demanding on the human body both in trainning and in matches.

although i'd love to see figo don the man.utd shirt, i just don't really see it happening. some of the obvious reasons are yea, he's cup tied and we've got a player in ronaldo that's on the verge of superstardom. people knock on him because he's not the player he once was. but hell, he's 31-32. any player at that age is past their prime. he's not as fast as he was, but he's got that guile and the moves and the bag of tricks that still fake defenders.

 Cocu , Kluivert, Reiziger, Davids and Overmars(when he was not injured) were almost always in the starting eleven. Some of them even when they didn't deserve it. Van bronkhorst is still in the starting eleven.

I hate when people speak about things that don't know a **** :)

After spending 7 years in Barcelona. :| All the names DT mentioned were usually in the starting XI, it was just that van Gaal bought to many average Dutchies. Ruud Hesp and Winston Bogarde come to mind. The rest were class but Barca kept on having sh*tty seasons.

Figo to Man U? Why? Why leave Real Madrid and La Liga to join Man U in the EPL, especially when the EPL is a more physical and faster league? I think Figo should stay where he is and be happy with it.

Yeah but it says something doesn't it. Funny how so many Dutch players still want to go there.

And I don't think Figo has stated his desire to play in the EPL for no reason. Obviously he feels like he wants a new challenge. If nobody goes in for him soon, I wouldn't be suprised if he ended up at Bolton alongside his old pal Hierro. :D

Figo to Spurs could happen. I bet Ronaldo will talk him into it because of his love for Frank Arnesen.

He himself said he would play for Spurs.
