I read somewhere that to buy it on ppv was almost a hundred dollars. That seems amazing to me - more than a ticket to Stamford bridge, just to watch a fight on TV

It was. $100 for HD, $90 for SD. And to top it off, they had distribution issues.

The hype was unreal, ESPN was on site all week and anchored SportsCenter from a hotel there.

Oh totally agree, and MMA will probably never rise to the heights Boxing has, but it's the future. Unless Boxing can sort of do what MMA did, it will keep losing more and more relevance.

Funny that it cost like 10 euros here, and we got offered it for 2. I just don't get the appeal of the sport. I mean, isn't the best case scenario a KO? In which case you're paying for a shortened match.

But it's getting harder and harder, kids are growing up in MMA, not Boxing.

They're both in trouble, honestly. Boxing probably has more staying power though because it has more cultural relevance.

That's because 10 euros in Spain is half a weeks' wages. Where as US$100 is what Americans earn in a day.

As long as there's a decent Mexican boxer, boxing won't die.

Would like to see another Julio Cesar Chavez type fighter, now there's a boxer a did enjoy seeing fight. :alex:
