I am about to get Football Manager (finally) but I'm wondering if there is a roster patch for downloading? Cuz I dont like out-of-date things and I certainly don't feel like starting a game where Rooney is still in Everton, Graeme Souness is still coaching Blackburn, etc.

Well, I do believe the game wasn't released until a month or so into the season so all the summer transfers are correct, but look in the downloads thread for patches and stuff. One of the 5.05 patches contains an updated roster.

Yea I was just wondering if the 5.0.5 patch contains updated roster too. Cuz from what I read on the official site the patch is all about correcting bugs and making the game more realistic, etc.

there are two 5.0.5 updates, one without a roster update, one with the database update :)

as italianstallion said. SI made an update aswell do some unofficial updaters. Look in the download sticky.

I think if you purchase FM2005 at this point, it will have 5.0.5 included, WITH updated rosters anyway. If not, you can always download it, like others said.

Yes they do, under the name of 'WorldWide Soccer Manager 2005'. I doubt that you'll have luck finding it, though. And otherwise you could always import it.

Just got the game today from a secret source! :hump:

Played it for 2 hours... very sophisticated and realistic manager game, good indeed. Too bad I got pissed off when I started to pass the days in the game and since I have a Pentium III 800MHz laptop right now it took forever so I quit. :p

New computer on the way tho, should get it next week and then it'll be sweet sailing. :)

A question: how many leagues do you guys select to play with? And what size of data do you guys choose? Small, medium, huge?

I usually play with 1 league and large db. works very well becuase i want to play a long game like up to 2015 and i want to stick with one team.. alothough the longest i have gone is only 2009 :kader: Hopefully my Parma game lasts longer.

Exactly what I do. I don't really feel the need to change clubs.

I always have 7 leagues, on small db, I like to have the ability to move abroad. Besides I always find the game speed decreases more when I get a larger db than when I select more leagues

it loads more players, for instance small database will load the most important, famous players+the players from the country(s) you are playin in :)
