I revisited that thread... some good ones:

I'm fine with them. I follow what the ass man says usually. "Encourage" usually has no bad side-effects so just do that all the time if you want no trouble.

I always say I'm pleased if they win the game (sometimes the ass man says to be disappointed or say nothing). I sometimes use 'don't get complacent' at half time but I know that can be risky. If someone has a red reaction I usually try to sub them out.

I still have a feeling those team talks actually don't make that much difference on your team performance. I've had this feeling since the moment this feature was introduced.

I see how sometimes saying pleased at half-time makes your team take their foot off the pedal. And if accepted, saying to not get complacent keeps their attention up.

Yeah, I'm managing Corinthians now and my players react badly to everything I say. I'll say things like ''Do it for the fans!'' or ''Let's keep this run going!'' and they act like I insulted their mothers. It's a real pain. I feel it's influencing their performances, they always 'look uninterested' or something like that.

Or maybe they don't want an unknown European coach.

Try this, Juve, it's what I'm doing and it's working better so far:

1. Have the AssMan dictate Opposition Instructions.

2. Don't worry about the pre-match team talk.

3. At HT, talk to the team only if your AssMan thinks they've played particularly well OR they've been really poor. Otherwise leave it blank.

Oh in 12 it was a breeze, they made sense. In 13 whatever you say they get pissed off.

My team on thirteen is rarely angry. Generally, no reaction, or good. Then I do position talks to change nothing to good

You look like shit! That team (squad) has 13-3-0 in Serie A with 33 scored and 6 conceded, plus lead the CL group (montpellier, valencia, anderlecht) with 4-1-1.

But yeah I desperately need reinforcements which I can't buy 'cause there's no €.
