Just thought we should have a thread where we can all say what we would like to see in FM.
So what features would you like see in future games? :D

Ill start.
stadium expansions shouldnt even be in the game. Managers dont do that. Leave that for Total Crap Manager. A better game engine more accurate stats and even more stats and player info (like player peronal life (stuff heights weight , think this was added in 06..)etc) that affect them on the field the way they perform, a more accurate transfer market and club financial situation that reflects reality and the way things develop in that area... More advanced tactical changes (the old with/without ball screens come to mind), better and more frequent media interference with more depth (meaning more avaliable options and affecting at least on some situations even the future of the manager at the club)... Thats all i could come up with now

The idea Alex came up with a month or so ago. To make certain players, who is known by nobody, very talented players because that's quite realistic. There are so many players we don't know today but will know tomorrow. Plus it will spare us, as Legend Update makers, quite some time.

For the rest the ordinary stuff: Better media interaction and more media interaction ofcourse, Realistic game engine, realistic database(except for the players explained above), well actually make the whole game more realistic.

Faster game play, if FM 2007s only improvement was speed, then I would be very very happy.

Another thing I always liked to have in, was sending a player to warm up. If a player doesnt warm up (surprise injury or something) his first minutes will be weaker then normal. On the other side that might be a bit boring and repetitive.

Smarter media: I dont want to say every weak that I will definitely win the title.

warm up thing is good. There could be something like an "auto warmup" option that wud be disabled only when the player to come in is to replace an injured player or if he's coming in in the final mins :D

alex, didnt i suggest this to you about a month ago on MSN and you said; "whats the point having a wishlist for a game that is nearly finalised?"

haha... lol

Came up with something else, tho im not sure if its in Fm06 or not, players who are free can sign for the team any time and join the team any time too. Even after the transfer window is closed. They just cant play, but they can participate in tranning frienldly games etc.

without contract. "Free agents" can sign contract and join any team they want (and wants them) any time. They just cant play in games. This doesnt mean they cannot stay with the team train and do whatever they do. And i came up with the idea of this addition after "watching" 2 exactly similar incidents. Tho im not sure if this is the same always, as in one of the 2 "incidents" the player was just released after the close of the transfer window, and for him applies all that what i said. The other guy had his contract (with roma it was) run out this summer, and he couldnt reach an agreement with any team and now he signed with a team and he in a special trainning sch. and apparently when he's ready he will be able to play for them. Im not making all this up, it's based on facts

Yeah, if someone isn't tied by a contract, he can go and sign wherever he wants, and play for the club in every competition that don't need player registration (continental cups, Spanish leagues).

The player Alex is talking about probably wasn't good enough, but he could join in training with an amateur status (trial, basically). If he then proves he is capable of performing at the wanted level, he will be signed to a contract.

When someone agrees to termination of his contract, he's also free to go anywhere.

Maybe having media questions about tacitcs you will use and players you will use??

Or maybe thats asking for too much.

no i think there is too little in the game about actual media realism.

What i mean is at almost EVERY game nowadays teams such as Chelsea and Arsenal are posed questions about how they might do; on FM it seems that only pre-FA cup finals and stuff like that are you ever asked.

We need less of the silly praising and critiscing of players, and more about tactics and strategies.

I want to be able to interact with the players. my starting keeper got injured and I was playing him in the reserves go gain match fitness. After a few weeks I got a message saying he wanted to leave the club. I wanted to tell him I was about to bring him back in but the 'Unh' never went away.

I disagree completely, but I don't think that should be in the media. You should be able to interact with the player.

Also I'd like less of a spreadsheet when you pick teams. Honestly I just use the coaches' input, whereas in some other games the entire game revolves around picking your starting 11 which really is what a manager does and not about everything else.

yeah i agree, sometimes when a player is unhappy it would be good if you could try re-assure him.

Id like more of a hierarchy in FM. Id like if you could start out as a coach for a football team and work your way up. You know manage the U-18 side or the reserve side, and give reports on players attitudes and talent. And eventually become the assistant manager and help make decisions, and make choices and comments when the manager asks you. Then you know, when the time comes and the manager gets sacked, you could take over the job (Stuart Pearce style) or take the manager job at a lower club, id really like that. Id also like a more personal relationship with the players. I've seen they have put it in a bit more in Fm 06, i told Ole Soljskaer if he trys hard in training i might play him (H)
