football manager 07 vs. fifa manager 07

I'm thinking of getting a management game but I'm not sure which I want to get. I understand that football manager is much more in-depth and is considered better by a lot of people. Its forum also has a lot more posts than fifa's. But what exactly is better about football manager 07? Are there certain features in it that fifa doesn't have that make it a lot better? If so, what? What does football manager have that fifa doesn't?

Here are some of the things I want:
The ability to delegate responsibilities: in tcm you only had control over the parts you wanted. I didn't feel like managing the team's training, so I always left that box unchecked and didn't have to worry about it.

The ability to manage a team's tactics and style of play pretty well (with realism), but nothing insanely complicated and hard to understand. It would also be nice if the style of play was reflected in the different leagues. For example, leagues from Latin countries should have a lot of creativity, as opposed to say some of the lower English leagues, where dribbling would be frowned upon. The Scottish league would be very physical, and MLS wouldn't be at all. etc. etc.

Realistic financial engine: I don't care too much for financial micromanagement (something I always delegated in TCM), but I would like it to be realistic. For example, if ManU were to get relegated, their club should suffer financial ruin and have to sell their players, fire a lot of their staff, perhaps lose some of their top-rate facilities, etc.

Realistic transfer stuff-for example, if there is an amazing young player in the MLS, when he outgrows the league he's going to play in Europe. Rising stars from small clubs or from weak countries always get bought by the major European clubs, and this should happen in the game, too.

Good youth player stuff-how do fifa and football manager compare in this regard? Realistic?

The ability to manage national teams, in particular the US squad, and participate in tournaments, and the CPU not being idiotic in managing theirs.
In TCM they often left out a lot of their best players.
A good amount of leagues, including the MLS (absolutely necessary), leagues from 4 or 5 Latin countries, K-League and J-League, an African or Arab league or two, the Australian league, and leagues from about 15-20 European countries.

Realistic simulation engine-I think TCM's was a little unrealistic, I remember one time in the first season Liverpool was one game away from getting relegated. The world cup was often missing a lot of the top teams, and usually the powerhouses couldn't get out of the group stage. I remember Brazil getting beat like 3-0 by Jamaica.

Good player stats/ratings-I didn't like TCM's too much-the players had an overall level (average players in the low 10s, the superstars in the late teens and low twenties) and then they could have certain characteristics altered a little bit (ie dribbling anywhere from -3 to +3). I thought it didn't give the players a lot of uniqueness. I like it when there are a bunch of different categories with the rating system from 0-99.

Realism in general-even if the game isn't too in-depth, if things go realistically it makes it better. If I go through 50 seasons, things shouldn't be that much different than they will be in 50 years. That means Brazil should still be the best as opposed to Northern Ireland or Israel, and the Swedish league will not have become the best league in the world.

The game not to crash. In TCM if you played with a lot of leagues (I download a patch that had tons of them) it would crash, and if you played with a fairly large amount it would crash after a few seasons.

Last, are there any major flaws about either of them I should know about? It's too bad they stopped making TCM, because I thought that game had pretty much the perfect balance of everything I wanted. I'm leaning towards Fifa manager because if it has most of the things I want and is more accessible and less time-consuming, why not go for it? I'm busy and can't spend too much time playing, and I don't want to get bogged down with all of the things I have to do. But then again, it is nice to have the complexity there if I want it, and if I can let the computer do a lot of the micromanaging (if you can), it shouldn't be too hard or time-consuming.

FIFA (I believe) is the new name for TCM.

At least i think it's the same game, Theo is your best man to ask.

Yeah, I think it is. Point is, if it really is just a new name, then it really is the game he's looking for.
