VERSION N.5B (FIXED) GP and Carrier: DB COMPATIBLE WITH MODDINGWAY DB 4.0 PATCH 1.0.1
DOWNLOAD V5::

HTML:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/8zqmla99wdld39b/V5B.rar

NOTE: THE PRODUCT INI FROM V5B VERSION HAVE A MORE VARIOUS CPU GAMEPLAY, BUT THE DEFENSE IS A LITTLE WORST. IF YOU FIND THE GAME TOO EASY I SUGGEST YOU USE THE PRODUCT.INI FROM V4B VERSION

- You can choose the db with the default camera or the edited one, which I use (credits to beta990 for the camera fix)
- This time you need to copy also the xml file:
Copy the xml file both to db folder and db/moddingway folder and overwrite the previous ones.
Then copy the database to db folder and overwrite.
Also copy the database to db/moddingway folder, rename it to 4.db overwriting the default one and regenerate.
Select db n.4 from mw selector and regenerate again. Ready.

- Copy the career files to dlc\dlc_footballcompeng\dlc\footballcompeng\data folder and regenerate

- Remove your cl.ini (if there is one) and the old product.ini from the main folder and regenerate. Place there the new product.ini and regenerate.

In this V5B version I also made further changes to the product.ini changin previous values and adding and removing some stuff.
For some of those I would like to give:
SPECIAL THANKS to: Fidel and Regularcat for the lines they suggested
CREDITS to Fidel for the dribbling lines

New features V5:
- Fixed career files like player values and wages:
- Player not growing crazy as in default ea settings. Now they will grow much less, and only the players with potential and the youngsters
- Players retiring later (So you won't have too many of those fake players)
- Reduced values for fake youth and fake free agents players so you won't see them too much on the pitch.
- Even more aggressive cpu defense
- Slower pace despite the pressing (If you don't like too much pressing you can reduce it by using the sliders or you can also try and edit the "protect the ball lines" in the product.ini changing it from 0.3 to 0.4 or more)

note: to have slower game speed you should to what follows:
Backup and remove your fifa16 folder from documents (yes you have to reset your profile, sorry... :confused2:), set the clock to 9.30 AM; restart the pc, set the clock to 9.30 also in the bios, run the game. It's not placebo. In the morning and first afternoon the game is slower

- Very difficult gameplay but more stable. Now You shouldn't get super hard matches one fixture and supereasy matches the next, in career and tournaments. The difficulty is set towards an hard level though. If you find it too hard you can reduce the game difficulty and should be ok.
- Small teams are easier to beat than big teams (still not so easy)

Generic INSTRUCTIONS for v1,v2,v3; for V4 and V5 follow the specific ones also:
(Always backup Your files. if problems installing just ask).

1a. (If you are using mw): copy my db only and replace one of the mw databases in data-db-moddingway. Select it from mw selector

1b. (if not using moddingway): just copy both db and xml files to your db folder.

2. copy cmsettings to dlc...... data folder and regenerate

3. EXACTLY FOLLOW THESE STEPS OR PRODUCT.INI WON'T WORK:
remove any cl.ini or product.ini files from main folder. REGENERATE. Place my product.ini in main folder REGENERATE again.

note: you can check db is installed ok if you have very low values in sprint speed for example.
you see product.ini working fine if game is more difficult; if it's not something didn't work.
in game: match just becomes more difficult after the 10th virtual minute of a match because of a trick I used

4 (optional). Set your windows clock to 7-8 am or around there. Restart windows BEFORE to launch the game. Yes I know point 4 sounds weird; but it looks like
EA set the morning/first afternoon game to be slower than evening/night game. (I can't guarantee if this is 100% true or just coincidence but worked for me). Also after around 1 hour game sometimes becomes faster. If that happens try and turn off your pc for some minutes. Restart and try.

5. (optional and in development). I suggest to make the sliders and settings as follows. You should at least try the following and adjust them later:

Difficulty Level: Legendary
Game Speed: Slow
Gameplay assistance settings: Full Manual controls with Classic defense (it may work fine as well with tactical defense and assisted/semi controls but I didn't try it)

Sliders:
All default but:

User/Cpu

Sprint speed: 20/20
Acceleration: 48/48
Run frequency: 56/50
pass speed: 50/30 (also 50/50 is ok at least with patch 1.0.1)

Note: these sliders settings have been tested with ea patch 1. You may want to reduce sprint, acceleration and run frequency if you use the patch 2

Tactics:

Pressing: around 85
Aggression: around 65
Defense width: around 50
Defensive type: Offside

These values are important to reduce cpu possession gameplay

6. (optional) I Have been testing this mod especially with update 1 (the one at day one). It work as well with the last patch (I tried it quickly and it improves it as well but not as much as with patch 1).
So I suggest you downgrade to patch 1.
Just download the standalone update. Google it or you can find it in this forum, in the thread started here: http://www.soccergaming.com/forums/showthread.php?t=193075
(unfortunately that one is packed together )
Backup your files; overwrite and regenerate.
If in the end you don't want to downgrade you can try anyway with the last patch, it should improve it as well. In that case let me know how it works

7.ADDON:
HTML:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/88rkxj0c7uf99jk/add1.rar
Unrar; copy the entire unrared folder to main folder-data folder (inside data folder). Regenerate.
Should give more variety to cpu attack. And a slightly slower pace (with patch 1; less effective with patch 2)

8.
Thanks to the guys at soccergaming for their tips. Especially bangus, gimbarian and regularcat.
Credits to the person who first discovered the cl.ini (I don't know who did it actually).
Thanks to Fidel and Paul 2k4 for their cl.ini who inspired some ideas.
Thanks to beta990 for the general tips in his thread, (especially for career files tips) and for the cam mod (not included in this mod but that I use for my game).

Thanks to miketheslummy for suggesting about the adaptive difficulty strings (I don't know who found them out the first time though).
If I forgot someone please let me know.
If you re-use it, please give credits.
In case you re-link address to the original soccergaming thread as a link. I'm not using that adfly stuff, so don't do it as well.

special thanks to paul2k4 for telling me about the product.ini
credits to mw for their extracted and updated original db
thanks to Fidel for "protect ball strings" ideas inspired by one of his cl... and for his new camera findings!
Special thanks to pedrito79 and ciuffu for the tips, the help and the feebdacks.
The product.ini contains the same features then the previous one plus some addons. Thanks to Fidel and Paul 2k4 for finding out some strings some time ago. Thanks to them and dkharati for some ideas they inspired

I made some more tests today with patch 2. It went crazy fast after a while.
Patch 1 better, anyway in tournaments there must be something to tweak especially for something related to "match importance" I guess.
In carrier played some mid season matches and was ok.
Still the lines about gamespeed in cl.ini looks like they do nothing. I didn't remove them but they are pretty useless.
I corrected the lines about adaptive difficulty and re-uploaded two versions

Thanks for the thanks, I will try it today. But you know, I've been playing the demo the past 3 days, the default gameplay in the demo >> any full game mod I've tried, including my own edits. Two reasons: EA absolutely changed the full game gameplay and "arcaded it up" for the button-mashing masses who didn't like the slow, simulation demo gameplay.

But the biggest reason the demo plays so much better: EA didn't include the CPU boost/cheat coding in the demo. They did this as well with the FIFA 15 demo, it's why people complain EA's demos always play better than the full game. FIFA 16 without the CPU boost coding is truly a thing of beauty; a serious football simulation and the best video football game ever no question, amazingly balanced and nuanced, teams play fair and even from start to finish and, most important, players play to their ratings.

Right now my project is to find a way to make the full game play like the demo, without CPU cheats/boosts. Good luck etc., I guess I just feel that we've seen over the years that cl and db edits cannot fix this game. The core issue and real culprit holding this game back from becoming gold is the ridiculously arcade boost coding which overrides and nullifies any and all cl and db edits.

I agree with you about the demo and the absence of cheats in there
But for me the demo didn't play perfectly as well.

I didn't like the cpu defence (even though it was better than it is in the retail version)
So that's the first point I was trying to fix.
And I think this is a point I have improved

The second point is the cpu playing so repetitively; and I haven't improved so much there

The third is about cpu boosts or counter boosts
My cl.ini does very little actually, maybe even nothing. That's just an add.
What I'm more focused on is different.
I noticed two things:
- Reducing the rating already reduces itself the boosts a bit (lower ratings -less variation of them)
- I wondered HOW the cpu boosts work and I realized that while most of them cannot probably be fixed, some others are triggered through "attributes modifiers". Now in tournaments I still see those variation a lot. While in career for as much as I have tested until now; I see that that little editing I made to the cmsettings improved the "stability"

- the fourth one is about game speed variation and still I don't know if there's a solution there. The day before yesterday I played about 20 test matches and noticed no change in the game speed so I thought I had found a solution; but yesterday I played some other matches and this speed variation was there again. So I don't know. What I know is that again reducing some specific ratings lowered these game speed variation

@Regularcat I see you edited the title; could you please correct the mistyping of my name.. ? :) and maybe change the title in to something more "fancy"?... I avoided using "realistic"or "simulation" or similar in the title but maybe some description could have been left the way I untitled the thread the first time. I wrote experimental and solid, maybe can it be titled "solid gameplay beta"? What do you think?

That's right, and I edit my db mostly to reduce speed and agility, which specifically helps reduce the CPU boost effect and keeps the gameplay somewhat fair and balanced when the CPU kicks into boost mode. That's all anyone here has been able do to as far as dealing with the CPU boost code. Unfortunately it's always there, waiting to kick in and completely ruin your next match, and always just when you thought you maybe finally found a fix for it, lol.

Hi frigson,

Happy to see someone else give it a go. :)

I would suggest removing the "gamespeed" settings from your cl.ini as they do nothing. Also you should put the Adaptive Difficulty into a product.ini to follow the default EA setup and to make sure that EA's settings do not override yours.

do dribble_error codes do anything? I thought they were left in the .exe from older versions, didn't see any effect in 15

Hi Paul thanks for the support and tips. Yes I agree it does nothing; also the change speed code was something different, as I checked and it was an animation string. What's the difference between cl.ni and product.ini? I have never understood that. They can't go together, can they?

Yes I tried to add those lines but yes you are right it looks like they do nothing. Anyway I edited the db to have dribbling very underpowered, as I found too easy to go past the cpu defenders, maybe that would help if that's the problem for you too

I have made a new db from mw db 4.0 and a product.ini.
I'm going to add the download link to the first post

I'm going to add an addon in first post.
It should give more variance to cpu attack, more similar to the demo but with out the bad cpu demo defence. And a slower pace

Thank you for the good work. I use your gameplay version 2.
I love to watch a game in CPUxCPU. In FIFA15 team for two halves of 4 minutes was able to do about each other for 10-15 strokes and score 3-5 goals. Do you think the gameplay of the team a lot of play back, play the ball across the field, very few shots on goal and score 1-hole. How to increase these parameters in side impact?

Hi mate,

Xml and cm settings are missing from v3

Thanks

Hi; I didn't change those 2 files from v2 to v3 so you can use the ones from the previous version.
Just download v2 and copy those from there.
Hopefully I'm finally going to add a slightly modified database and some career files very soon.

And please guys tell what you like and what you don't so maybe I can improve some aspects

Good to hear beacause so it's the way my gp was meant to be ;)
Because I studied the gp to work for human vs cpu to have a more tighter defence and more midfield gameplay.
Actually it would be good to play a real simulative macth of at least 10 minutes per half ; but I understand not everybody likes to have 20 minutes matches (me neither; I play 6 min per half)

Maybe if you want to see more cpu game variety you can try and use my db togeter with Fidel's cl.ini normal version.

If you try that let me know if you see something better

and thanks for the feedback
