Frosty Mod Manager Question

Whenever I try to launch FIFA with Applied mods it will not let me Launch my game after I click play on the FIFA Launcher.... Nothing happens?

I've only seen 1 fix which was to revert to version v1.0.3alpha4 but that never worked for me either, Any ideas?

Could be a frosty install issue, could be a mod issue. To figure out which it is, you have to troubleshoot.

1. Make sure the game launches without frosty.
2. Try each mod separately and see if any run with frosty.
3. If the game doesn't run with any of those mods, create your own quick mod and see if it runs.

I was playing last night without Frosty and it was fine but now it wont launch at all.

I have that issue all the time using the CGFE editor. My solution: When I first download from Origin, I make backup copies of the main FIFA 18 files. If my game files get corrupted and won't launch, I delete them, and use a backup copy. Game starts up again every time.

Ahhh so what shall I give a go? Where my saves located? Shall I just back them up and re install fifa?

You have to reinstall the whole game? Okay, your saves are in Docs/FIFA 18. Just rename that folder FIFA 18x so nothing gets lost/changed when you reinstall. Just to be safe.

I installed a bunch of stuff in folders and im confused with whats what so i might aswell just re install the game lol and cheers I will. Ill copy and paste them on desktop to be extra safe, thanks for the help!

Okay quick update, Its 100% something to do with Frosty!
I reinstalled FIFA and The Vanilla version launched fine, As soon as I reinstalled Frosty (v1.0.3alpha4) with TheAwesomeGems Career Mode Mod it wont launch again and Now my vanilla version wont launch too

I wish I could help. I tried for days but never got mod manager to work on my PC, only the editor. So I just used the editor to launch my one mod. And if mod manager worked for you before, it makes little sense why it wouldn't work now. Obviously your Microsoft components like Netframe etc are up to date.

I stopped using frosty because it always stopped working after EA updates, and because every mod seemed to require a different version of frosty in order to run. I just gave up.

It's actually never worked for me the Mod Manager. I did not know you could run mods through editor, ill try to find some sort of tutorial and try to run it from the editor.

Delete "ModData" folder. Problem solved.

I know you were asked once before but have you tried any other mod?

Have you tried launching mod manager without any active mods?

We need to pinpoint the problem to a mod or frosty itself.

Make sure your not using CGFE too. Make sure your not using an illegal version.

that means its a permission problem. this has happened loads of times to loads of people. you need to take ownership of the game folder.

As we say in the software development world. "google is your friend", search "take ownership of folder".

I had to re-format my laptop to get Frosty working. I hope that you do not have to go that far.

So my FIFA 18 folder ownership was set to "administrators" so I set that to my account instead and still nothing has changed. Assuming I am just unlucky.

So What I did first was add the "bcrypt.dll and initfs_Win32" fix for frosty and soon as I tried to launch after adding the fix, So keep in mind I haven't even tried frosty yet this is just the normal game with the fixes added and my game would not launch. so i removed them and my game launched again fine. So maybe it has something to do with the fix?

This is what I went through for days 'til I gave up. Someone named ::..Federico Debla..:: (seriously took a minute to type that name, dot dot dot-dot, jesus) posted a Frosty fix tutorial on Fidel's FIFA 18 thread a few months back. Redmessi posted a fix video as well.

Thank you so much I have bookmarked Federicos Comment. Running into problem after problem at this point, One of the parts was to "untick read only from folder" whenever I untick it, it does not save and after a while googling all different fixes not one has worked. Then i am trying to launch AwesomeGems career mod and getting cannot get access of "careermode.sb" and then I tried pauls career mod and got same error. So I tried a boots pack instead and now getting cannot get access of "cas.cats".. I am starting to give up hahaha
