Game Crashes, Says DirectX... Help!

FIFA 18 has been running perfectly for months, including this morning.

I had to re-download the WC update two hours ago, and now the game crashes before starting a match. I caught a glimpse of the error message just once... it said something about DirectX, might have even said DirectX 11 which is what I have my settings at. I have tried all the various DirectX settings options, updated the drivers, but same thing, just crashes.

I just went on Steam and played PES. It works fine, so how can it be a DirectX issue? Or maybe that's irrelevant, I don't know, I know nothing about DirectX. Anyone have any insight, or suggestions to try, or some link to check or download? The goofy Youtube fix-videos I watched didn't help either. (Change to windowed mode, fixed!) Thanks.

Attempt to run the Touchup application in the FIFA root in the _Installer folder and see what that does.
If it doesn't work you may have to download the game again but before you do in the search function of the start menu paste this - %appdata%.
Check the local and roaming folders for Origin related folders and delete them then download the game again.

Damn, need to get your internet game up. I download the game in 3 hours.
Have you tried deleting all those folders and reinstall Origin ?

HDD\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\Origin\CommonTitles

Keep that as that is your installers for your Origin games.

I live out in the sticks, 1/2 hour from the nearest small city. Don't even have cable TV here, had to watch the WC online. Yeah, all those folders are gone, that one I knew about, thanks.

FIFA 18 running again, CGFE working, my edited squads installed and working, a perfect day! Then I went to watch the WC final, and my online TV subscription that I bought a month ago just to watch the WC, expired last night at midnight...
