Game lag - unable to run smoothly

Hi there

For 3 days I have been reading these forums trying to find answers and tweaks to help me fix my lag problems. I currently only have the Fifa 11 PC demo and want to know if I can fix these issues so that I could buy the full version. If my PC isn't good enough or can't be tweaked, then I wont buy the full version.

I have the following PC :

Asrock Ion 330 1.6ghz (overclocked to 2.1ghz)
It's the dual core version

(http://www.asrock.com/nettop/spec/ion 330.asp - click prod spec tab for full details...... )

4gb Ram
512mb dedicated Nvidia 9400 graphics
1791mb total graphics memory

Direct x 11 is installed and reporting all fine
Nvidia Ion graphics drivers are fully up to date.

I have tried the following.

1) In Nvidia control panel, altering 3d performance to "performance mode" - ie slider all of the way to the left.
2) Using Fifa 11 config to lower quality to very low, MSAA off, and vsync off - in addition to altering resolution to low
3) I have set output resolution in NVidia control panel to match TV's output of 1080p. At 60hz.
4) I have fully defragged and stopped background processes such as AVG.

Any suggestions ?

Is my CPU good enough ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

To further add :-

I have also upped the fan speed to max in BIOS.

Performance index of my PC (In Vista) is 4.6

Processer : 4.6
RAM : 4.8
Graphics : 5.9
Gaming graphics : 4.8
Hard drive : 5.5

I have also tried from within the demo itself turning off all audio. To no effect.

how are you running directx11 on a gfx card that only supports directx 10.0 ?
uninstall directx 11, & install directx 9.0c or 9.0l depending on you operating system.

no sense in running a dx version your system doesnt support, then give fifa a shot.

I'm on Windows Vista.

dxdiag reports no issues and playback of video files, audio files etc are perfect. It's just this demo.

So is uninstalling directx 11 vital ?

And if so, how do I go about doing it safely for vista ? - I've had a search and there's no progs for windows that will remove dx11.

And if the GFX card is dx10, why would dx 9.0c etc be of any benefit ?

I was using 9500 GT, it's lag as hell..
then changed my graphic card to radeon 4850. Now I can run it very smoothly :)

you can run the game in high priority mode using "Prio" software which you can find from internet...try to overclock your graphics card and processor if your motherboard supports..you can use "msi after burner"for overclocking graphics card..or "Riva tuner"..and overclock your processor from BIOS settings...be careful...I also faced same problem with my entry level system..but now I can play FIFA with 60 above framerate on high settings..actually FIFA is meant For high end machines...all the best:)

overclock too much & you will burn your **** up, hope you know what you are doing.
& use process lasso, prio sucks.

Don't fancy overclocking more than what I already have done with the CPU.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. None have worked.

Any other ideas ?

It just FIFA slower or other games also, you have a good PC performance?
Maybe could be an spyware trouble or your PC needs optimization.

totally agree with cat and smf_fede....

you probably have the system infected........
if it were so:
Try this solution:
download Trojan Remover (free fully-working evaluation copy of Trojan Remover) from here (direct link):
EDIT: here link for download version compatile vista/7: http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/download.html
http://www.simplysup.com/download/dl/trjsetup-9x.exe
install, update, and then make a better full scan!!
follow the instructions on screen for easy virus clean!!
if requested restart (probably if you have the system infected)
at the end of all operations, uninstall Trojan Remover!!

also update system with windows update, update all driver (video, audio, chipset....)
optimize system with program like TuneUp Utilities 2011 or similar!!

try to start game!!

Right

I've tried both the tuneup utilities and the trojan remover.

tuneup did its job and amended a few things. Trojan remover found nothing.

So back to original question, is it my specs that wont allow this ?
Or can anyone else with a similar system advise ?

Thanks in advance and for those previous suggestions.
