I don't wish Best dead, I wouldn't do that to anyone, and I'm a c*nt of the highest order.

But I can't feel sorry for him, I just can't. This is a man who drank himself right to the gates of hell, and got dragged back, and it appears he's wasted his second chance, and on top of it all, he hit a woman. Before you call me an asshole, just remember that Best was a bigger asshole than I am.

A damn shame, a child could have gotten that liver.

I don't think anyone should act like they can judge him. Addiction is a terrible thing and has laid waste to many, many very talented people, and many otherwise ordinary people, and it is a great shame. We should celebrate the football he played during the time he was well enough to do so, and realise that it is a sadness that yet another human being has suffered and will ultimately die due to a terrible addiction. I do not like the way some people try to judge addicts. It is something you can not understand, do not even bother to try. They may make bad decisions but ultimately they suffer the most and we should feel sorry for them.

George Best is no saint, but I do not think he is an evil man by any means, and I think people should be more thoughtful and respectful.

No, what's fucking pathetic is that he's ruined not one, but two livers. You get a second chance like that, and waste it, and you don't deserve sympathy, of any kind.

First off, note that I never said that I wished Best dead, nor have I made a bet on when he will pass. Now, please explain to me why a man who has been given the gift of life for a second time and squandered it deserves any sympathy?
