I think the third place in their group is realistic.

Bremen should make it to the round of 16, unless they draw Chelsea from pot two.

Werder is a different story, they are not a surprise, they are a reality now. Their upfront is stronger then ours too.

Klose and Diego are way better than Podolski e Santa Cruz.

We so need a new talented Cm.

But honelsty i also like our strategy to promote youth. Look at what we could do with Schweinsteinger and Lahm, why not built our ouw stars other then buy them? The NT will benefit too.

Ballack is not a striker. And he was not effective when Bayern needed him the most over the last few years.

Oh yeah I forgot about his goals, that's the only thing that helped the team. The problem was, he's not supposed to be the second coming of Makaay but a PLAYMAKER. A playmaker is supposed to feed the strikers and to lead the team when it matters. Instead that greedy bastard disappeared in any important matches. Then all those dives, arguing with refs and injuries. He only played because he's the superstar of German football, any other player would have been benched.

What's Bayern's record without him? 22 games, 20 wins, 2 draws. He slowed down the whole ******* team. And boy do I miss that **** that parks in the middle of the field for the majority of the game.

I'd also rather see Germany play without him. Put Borowski in there and give the captain's armband to Schneider.

In his last game at the Allianz Arena he was booed off the pitch by 70,000 fans. No applause, no respect whatsoever for his brilliant performances. And we know when players deserve that honour.

Ballack is a smart man. He moved from Leverkusen to Bayern because he realized that he could not win the bundesliga at Leverkusen. So he came to Bayern and won it plenty of times. Then his next goal was to win the Champions league... he tried and tried with Bayern but was never able to get close enough. So now he moved on to Chelsea where he can win the Champions league. He isnt the most loyal person, but loyalty is rare in football today.

Edit: I havent seen near as many Bayern matches as you. So of course you will have seen more of Ballack than me. I just feel that you are underrating him... and feel that he has done more for your club than you give him respect for. Maybe he was "poor" last season, but what about the years before that?

Oh and Schneider for captain... hahah id rather have Lehmann!!! :corn:

Maybe he should have played better if he wanted to win the CL. Effenberg was certainly not surrounded by better players.

I think the nt coaches don't want a gk as the captain (and not a freak either). Frings or Schneider have enough experience to do the job.

that sucks so bad for werder bremen. I would have agreed with you on hamburg, but not any more... not after they sold their entire defense pretty much and kompany is still adapting and hurt.

Hamburg just signed another Dutch defender, about the same quality as Boulahrouz. And they said they are close to signing a star player. Kompany is already better than van Buyten.
Porto and Moscow are definitely beatable.

Bremen...holy crap. Is that the group of death or what? The current holder of the CL trophy, the dominating side of English football and Germany's best team.
One thing's for sure, they need to improve their defense which means they gotta hope Mertesacker gets fit as soon as possible. They're capable of beating Barca and Chelsea at home and get six points from Sofia. A draw at Stamford Bridge would be vital and given Chelsea's current form it's not impossible.

Bayern, although not in great shape, should still finish at least second. We have to wait and see if Inter, a great bunch of individual talent, can play as a team.
