Glide Wrapping For FIFA 98... Possible?

The answer probably should be 'no'. Despite many failed attempts by utilizing Glide Wrapper (made by zeckensack), eVooDoo or so, I still keep believing that it may turn out to be successful with just some adjustments. So I'm going to post the details here and let someone interested check if there are false steps.

I bought a second-handed GeForce FX 5700 card this week (it's of "lame edition"). Before that, I had a good time with my ATi Radeon 9200SE for about four years, but things changed after I found out it had poor performance when using the Glide API emulators. For example, no matter what values or options I entered or selected in Glide Wrapper configuration, FIFA 98 wouldn't start at all.

At first, I thought that some of the default settings in Glide Wrapper were too 'high' for the card to handle :icon_spin: and did the following changes: memory limited to 2MB, resolution kept as default (by app), refresh rate limited at 60Hz, vertical sync always on, mipmapping set to 'by app', limit feature set fixed to 'Basic stuff only', graphics rendered to 'Own window' and finally thread policy set to 'Classic' (Lod bias, Anisotropy and Gamma remained unchanged.) However, all efforts were in vain. Until recently I was just aware of one line in GW's instructions-"...at least an ATI Radeon 9200 (w/o "SE" suffix!) or NVIDIA Geforce3 based graphics card for nice emulation quality and performance." Gee, it was a disgrace that I used this unsupported card to run the tests!

Buying the 5700 card, I got a feeling that good results would come. But tonight after redoing the experiment still FIFA 98 didn't want to run at all with the wrapper. This confused me. Now, I only wanna know if any of you has come upon something good from Glide wrapping for FIFA 98. Thanks.

FIFA98 Glide Wrapper

Well, I have a good news.

There is one 3dfx glide wrapper that works with FIFA98 in WinXP :bob:. It's called nGlide and it's located here:
nGlide - glide wrapper.
