he will be back

the game is loved because of it's gameplay, not because of it's official kits etc... If no team in the game had official kits, i would still chose pes/we, the gameplay is the #1 part of sports games that matter the most... and pes/we has that

Wolf, will miss your patches. They definitely made PES a better game.

I'll try out the Fifa demo when I have time, but for those that are saying Wolf is making a bad decision, have you even played the new WE9?

Wolf has been around for awhile and I trust his judgements when it comes to soccer games. It is a shame that you are leaving, but we gamers should be happy that there is finally competition between the two games.

Maybe one day we'll be downloading your Fifa patches!

Happy gaming Wolf!

Well, I've just tried the demo and I have to agree with most of you.. Wolf might come back!

Gameplay is still nowhere near as good as PES/WE - the ball kinda sticks to the feet (still!), some players run like horses, some players pass with great exaggeration, though the AI is improved. I think even WE7I is better than FIFA 2006.

Graphics - the kits and players look cartoonish, and the animations make you feel like you're playing (or watching) a cartoon!

Sound - alright it's better than WE (original), but WE's sound and commentary can be easily fixed.

WE9 may be poor in terms of the licencing, but it is possible to patch the kits, progress has been made, and well, I'll give the crowd a miss for better gameplay :)

I just wanted to come in here and say with regret that I'm leaving the Konami soccer world behind indefinitely...

when people read your post, it could mislead them to wrong imperssion that fifa06 is better than pes5.. i dont know you, but seriosly, i personally think that you just got lazy. i'm pretty sure that the upcomming pes5 wount be more patch-intensive than pes3 and pes4 were and that fifa06 will have much much more game flaws or bugs than pes5 will have.

i will surely not miss you because i dont use any patches at all. long-time fans of the series like me (playing since WE97) enjoy it just as it is and just editing few names was never a problem. besides that i dont really like people who switch the series back and forth. it wount surprise me if you switch back to pes next year praising it like nothing else. well anyway farewell :ewan:

I think what really gets to people from PES is the excessive foul calls, if it wasn't for that WE9 would be almost perfect. But as Wolf said, the foul calls make the game stop too much...I find that the only way to steal the ball is through a sliding tackle, because at the nearest shoulder to shoulder contact, I get a foul called....

people who think PES is scripted are really way off. I 've started ML again with liverpool and even though i was playing this game daily since it was out i can't get bored now. I mean now i can score awesome goals or some great lobs from 30m.

Well i will try Fifa2006 but the chance of moving to it is just pff 1/1000000

Now i never patched any kits on PES4 or flags balls boots anything just an option file. I mean is it reallyso bad if there is no Flying Emirates logo on Chelsea kit? Well of course it would be much better if it had but I really don't need it since most of the time you see the players from the side (at least with the camera i use).

Anyway I am preety sure Konami will get you all back next year or when you get bored playing Fifa.

btw i haven't tried WE9.

just look at the amount of animations in fifa, especially on tackling, it just seems to be the same type of slide tackle every time, and players dont even go for the ball, they just slide forward and more often than not completely miss the ball, and the opposition seems to run forward even if you have a player in the way, so you either tackle him or he runs straight through you.
Fifa is still not even as enjoyable as PES1.

What's all this empty stadium thing about?

The reason they did this was it removes a lot of lag during online play even though most people picked the club house anyway which has no crowd.

So when ever you play a multiplayer game over the internet the stadiums are always empty?

i tried fifa myself, it seems to be exactly like winning eleven controller wise except for some unecessary player runs crap and off the ball hooplah. Its not usually the case when you pick up a brand new game u've never tried, but i got it down instantly ,why? Because teh controller buttons are exactly the same as WE, the way u can hold down passes, L1 plus triangle is a little chip - its just not very original by EA. But I must say, its not too bad of a game, they've improved I'll give you that-still the goals are unrealsitic, the goalkeepers are unrealistic and the ball is a tad too big.

Wolf sorry to see you go, at least it was for a more appropriate reason than last time, and honestly you can switch back and forth just do what makes you happy; you're not getting paid to do anything like this, so you shouldn't be forced in doing anything you dont want to do and if you'r ento having fun doing something-then don't. I personally appreciate all the patches and dedication to the game, and I'm embarassed to see some of the kids on here just bash you immediately, quite shady if you ask me. But I guess that's how this community ( internet ) works and its unfortunate. Eitherway, take care man and keep in touch.

peace

They always fix certain things from version to version. I bet you there'll be less fouls in PES5. Then again I haven't played WE9 yet to see how it works. Maybe you just have to change the way you defend. I won't know until I get my copy of PES5.

I downloaded and played the Fifa 06 demo.
It's just wrong. Not quite as horrible as previous versions, but still, just doesn't feel like you're properly in control of your players.
