Got the full game (X360) need some answers though..

I'm absolutely loving the latest Fifa and I've been anticipating for months and played the demo for ages. Now that I have the full game, I'm wondering about a couple of things;

Do I need an Xbox gold membership to get roster updates, upload vids etc? Cause I can't seem to get it working. I get a membership error message whenever I want to do get football news, check the rosters or upload/record a video. I just have a silver account and it seems silly not giving roster updates to me.

Another thing, I've read alot about making your own tricks and stuff. Where is it? How do I do it? In an interview with the one of the developers I've been told that for instance, when you see Ronaldinho perform some sort of new move on tv, you could replicate it into Fifa. I don't see anything about it in the manuel either. Come on now.

I think you were misinformed about the new moves, the only thing you can create is your own series or pattern of moves that you string together. So that if you do see ronaldhino do his toe flick and then do the rainbow you could replicate that you know? but you cant design your own new specific move.

I think you may need a gold account as you generally need to be on their online section and check news or start an online game which would first prompt you to download the new rosters when they are available.

Strangely enough I managed to record and upload a video, but I can't find it anywhere now. Weird.

Here's the quote on the tricks...

"Skill moves are included in next-gen FIFA for the first time, but rather than have nothing but predetermined skill moves, most are "building blocks" - meaning that you can link certain tricks together to form your own brand of trick. If you do it in real-life, you'll probably be able to do it in FIFA - but only the best players can perform the trickiest moves."

"Pro Skills — A new, organic building-block system enables you to combine tricks and skill moves together to recreate signature moves from the real-world superstars or define your own style of play. Animations can be interrupted at any time to transition into a new move, just like real life."

The manual doesn't tell me how I do that, if it's even possible at all.

I can't find the quote about Ronaldinho doing a new trick and replicating it in Fifa, but I sure as hell didn't dream that. Oh well, still fun pulling off tricks in the arena and making the keeper look silly.

Also, I found out some players do different moves or have their own version of it. Every player feels different, very real.

Another thing, the Be a Pro mode is awesome. That alone is a reason to get Fifa 08.

Eventhough some things confuse me, I'm very glad I bought the game.

Based on the demo, Doing the tricks and moves is very easy; if you have all your controls on default, then try "holding" down the "LT" button and use the right stick analog to perform your tricks, the more you flick the stick the more you discover moves. And it true that the more you master the better you become in mixing up moves.

And about the membership level, I prefer that you wait before upgrading to the golden membership; FIFA hasn't officially launch their servers yet, so that might be the reason of the problems you are having. wait until the game is released world wide.

I wouldn't say that pulling off tricks in the demo is easy at all...however, I think that's a good thing because it's realistic. If every player on the field could pull off those moves every time they had the ball it wouldn't be realistic. Plus, when you actually do pull one off and shake your defender it makes it all the more satisfying.

Why couldn't this game have come out in the USA this week!

Hey I know how the tricks work, I just don't see an option to make my own tricks or interrupt the animation.

About the membership thing, I guess the best thing to do is just wait till it's been released, but if I still need a gold membership for roster updates I'd get pissed.
