Guardiola's Manchester City Thread

You talk about him like he is completely flawless. Too much ass kissing. 4 penalties so far for City this season, just like Liverpool.

Barcelona fans wanted Nolito to sit his ass on their bench. Stupid ****s.

Modern football, where Kovacic prefers to play 1 out of 10 games and be considered a shit for Madridistas instead lead Inter.

Kovacic is different. He is 22. May become a starter in a few years. Nolito is 30. You put him on the bench and he won't get to play until he retires.

He might get some minutes there or play some matches when MSN injured/tired ... but Nady point is he has the quality to play in starting 11 of a quality team in his prime ...

stupid example, players like Lahm, Neuer and Alaba are so nice ... you make Trump their head coach and they are fine with that ... true leader should be able to handle strong characters like Ibra, Eto'o, Toure and ... not just rejecting all ...

I understand you guys support Pep but he's no prophet ... he has some negative points like all other managers (people) ... even Sir Alex, all time great, made many mistakes ...

Not trying to criticize your comment in any way, agreed mostly.

But.. Some players/individuals/persons whatever way you like it are just impossible to manage, because of whatever reasons. You brought out the example as in Ibra, Eto'o and Touré. That's fair enough.

I cannot recall who said it, but it was some manager recently, ala that you just basically need a squad full of players who are all willing to listen to your idea/philosophy of playing and doing by it. One of the most important things. Look at Atleti for example, prime one at that IMO. There's no need for some bad apples when you can easily replace them or even better - promote quality youth who are more than willing to learn (applies to Guardiola especially) and play without any stupidity. It was ShiftyPowers' favourite player Kimmich, who was signed by Guardiola and essentially groomed that way at Bayern and also started starring for Germany's national team, no?

Guardiola just doesn't like big egos in the dressing room who can have bad influence on the whole squad which "distrupts the harmony". He didn't get rid of Ronaldinho, Deco and some other guy for nothing when he first started out at Barca. Eto'o was also on that list, but since they couldn't find a replacement fast he decided to stick with him for another year. And it was a wise choice in hindsight I believe.

It's the first hard moment for Pep at City, not because of the last 4 results but because it's probably the first time the players start to have doubts that his way is the winning way.

11 v 11 for the first half City was having a good game, they pressed very high and we had a lot of trouble in getting the ball past the half line, and if it wasn't for Ter Stegen they could have even equalised.

Are City becoming the new Arsenal? It makes sense, because Arsenal have long been considered an 'inferior Barcelona' and that may be exactly the kind of club that Guardiola will create....

Getting hammered 4-0 at the New Camp whilst 'trying to play well' after being held to a home draw with Everton at the weekend despite some early season hype is just so Arsenaly...

They didn't "try to play well". They tried to win the game and if it wasn't for Bravo's mistake I think they could at least get a draw. They were (slightly) the better team for the first 50 mins.

Despite all this, I really admire your loyalty to Pep ... you protect and support him even against your beloved Barca ... this is nice to see in age of glory hunters ...

City played a very good first half and they caused us a lot of problems because of how they pressed. ter-Stegen and Umtiti both had a great game. The hard work by Rakitic went unnoticed as usual.

The game changed after Bravo's red card. Most teams get trashed at Camp Nou and even at their own stadiums by Barça 11 vs 11 so the score is not a big deal.

Haha yeah I was laughing at this too - Barca romp to a 4-0 win and the Barca fans are all trying to downplay and minimalize the result (H)

I can understand you because we also kiss Alex Ferguson's ass for giving away a free Pogba and rewarding Cleverley with a 70 k per week salary.
