They are old enough to be starting games and benching them would impair their development.

You mention that Clichy, Zabaleta and Kolarov are aging but none of the new players are full backs and thats an area they could improve.

Yeah, to an extent but if you put young players on a free ride they don't progress much either. Young players bought during the Invincibles' time developed to become world class/very good/good at Arsenal but young players after that with a free ride didn't develop as well, for example. They need finished players of the top level to help them grow. Its a very forward thinking strategy to bring in successors before letting go of the old guard.

And, the market has changed drastically while the pool of talent and football too.

Agree that they need upgrading on fullbacks but its a difficult area to find players and as I said, the market dictates.

Gabriel agreed terms with City but Neymar and Barça are trying to convince him to join us

And I hope we can get him now that City got Sane. I really don't see this transfer possible now, they already have Nolito Sterling KDB Silva Sane Navas on the wings. Remove Silva and KdB and there are still 4 players for 2 positions.

Wasn't Gabriel Barbosa the bigger talent than Gabriel Silva, or is he more of a Robinho?

Gabigol is a very good player, i think his top is Luis Fabiano/Careca level. Gabriel Jesús is a superstar in the making, can evwn follow Ronaldo and Romario legacy.

20 year old Sane becomes most expensive German player of all time, £4m more than established German NT and Real Madrid star Mesut Ozil.

See Guardiola inventing the "zonal attack" Clichy, Delph and Nolito swapped positions all the time against Arsenal, thats something he already did at Bayern with Lahm, Costa and Muller.

Barça did that too because of Messi, he plays with absoluto freedom so depending on his position Rakitic and Alves went to one position or another. Thats why Rakitic is so important for Barça, he reads the game very well, Arda is not good at that.

That's his requirement to win the league. Have the best squad in the league. Always. He has always done it with the best squad in the league, only with the best squad in the league by a mile. He is good at working with the best players so credits to him.

Stones is massively overpriced but he is promising. City has spent lots on defenders in the last 3 years; Otamendi, Mangala and Stones. One of them will sit their million dollar fat ass on the bench.

You have a manager who fits that description to a T. Your team bought a player for over a 100 million euros, can't really comment on anyone else being "overpriced".

Come on, Stones is not worth half of a worldclass midfielder, in fact the best midfielder in the world, Pogba. Stones hasn't proven shit yet, doesn't even start for England yet and had a pretty bad season.

Even an average player like Cahill is better than Stones but Stones promises to become a better player but you can't guarantee that. Stones is 22 and at this point he may improve, stagnate or even regress like Phil Jones or Micah Richards.

So does Pep have the best players then or not? Sounds like bad money management and an average player, not Pep securing the best squad in the league.

Pep is going to turn that kid into the next Boateng by the end of the season, I guarantee it. He won't stagnate under Pep as long as he commits and works hard. Pep is the best teacher in football bar none.
