Help reviving squad!

Hey guys!

My current real madrid game has been going very well, but now my team seems to be stalled... Im currently 6 points after Barcelona with 9 games remaining.

And it's starting to piss me off.

I would like to have a fresh look on my team, and maybe some points on how i can revive this squad... I guess some eyes from outside will help since i can't see how i can change anything....

TACTICS

i used to play a similar formation to that, then found that it gradually became less and less effective, so i altered it slightly to this:

i'll attach the tactic file if you want :)

and perhaps playing Veron instead of Pirlo because he is more creative - he's not an as good defensive player but with your defense i cant really see you having too many problems ;)

Thanks for sharing your view daz...

Do you have some comprehensive individual settings?

If not, i dont see why you should be troubled by attaching the tactic file...

You don't have a good proper defensive midfielder - AFAIK Pirlo has like, 12~13 for both marking and tackling. If you want to play Pirlo you need someone like Gattuso next to him. Or play Helguera instead of Pirlo.

And don't have your attacking arrows for your wingers up so high, they leave your fullbacks exposed (especially seeing as how your fullbacks aren't very strong defensively and you don't have a proper DM).

the best way to fix your tactic is to actually watch the games and figure out a) why you're conceding, and/or b) why you're not scoring; and then adjust it according to that.........

aside from that... i'd say that it would work better if you have the wingers going forward to AM R/L instead of F R/L, and have the attacking midfielder as it is, and maybe try helguera ahead of pirlo

cant put it any better than Parra, the best way to sort out a misfiring tactic is to watch all 90 minutes on 2D pitch, imagine it is a real football game, would your left winger really play thatfar upfront in real life? is your defence playing far too high?

Just watch it for a while

draw your defensive midfield back or else you will keep conceding goals. imo, pirlo is a not a good defensive midfielder

Well, it's very different depending on opposition which backs i field...

Teams with strong offensive players i usually play Chivu and De Jong on the backs....

And maybe you're right about playing Helguera more regularly against strong offensive sides :)

you're midfield is too attacking. If you want success, pick yourself a nice 4-5-1 (or 4-4-2 with 2 defensive mids) and success is guaranteed.

Forza Suarez! (ps brotha can you spare a dime?)
id say a nice diamond formation with wingers at a good defensive mid should do the trick

I agree. And if you wanna switch it up go for the 5-3-2 with 3 centerbacks and two defensive wingers.

Just want to mention that perhaps your dip in form has to do with the fact that you're playing better teams recently, or you have midweek games and are resting some stars, or there are many away fixtures recently. Lots of legitimate explanations.
