still a wonderful footballer. barcelona are so lucky to have had two years from the finest footballer in scottish football in the last 20 years.

Apparently Barca beating Arsenal in the final last night means that Celtic go straight into the CL next season and would have had to play a preliminary round had the Gunners won.

So Larsson still shining with all his might over the Celts.

Great player, great servant to the game, top bloke, thumbs up, pat on the back, good lad etc...

that's correct. shame he is leaving a big club before his ability declines though. he is definitely still good enough to play at the very top.

Henrik Larsson what a legend. If he wasn't with us for the best part of his career he would go down as one of the very best Europe has seen, he still should, but he wont.

He's a very good footballer, no doubt...

But saying he's one of the very best Europe has seen.... hmmm... not quite!
Remeber that, he's not at same level as Zidane or Henry... those are two of the very best... Larsson is just... very good... but he's not excellent...

Anyway, he's a very good striker.... no doubt... great scoring record at Celtic... already a legend for the club!

Been through a horror broken leg injury, totally under-rated, and finally add a Champions League to his career, LEGEND (Y)

nobody is trying to put him on that plane in terms of talent, but in terms of contributions to clubs, his level of class, how beloved he is by fans, and sealing it with that virtuoso performance yesterday he is truly a legend and a club hero. You cant say that, and claim they are a class individual and "nice guy" about many professional footballers today. Zidane is one I can think of, but even he hasnt endeared himself to one club fanbase like Larsson has

You know, two years ago I wondered why Larsson had signed for Barca at such an age when he was such a beloved figure at Parkhead and was being brought in with Eto'o and Giuly in one summer, and though he's been relegated to a super sub role despite his skill, that performance yesterday, on its own, justified the purchase by itself. The fact that he got Celtic past the qualification stages just, in the words of Homer, "wraps everything up in a nice neat little package, then". Good luck to the guy in Sweeden

Well said mate. This is the first time I agree with every word of what you said. I feel so happy for him to return to his homeland with a CL medal. Legend.

Couldn't be happier for such a class player... good to see him go out with a CL title and a game changing performance on top. Glad I got to see him play a friendly here against Man U.

finest in scottish football for the last 20 years? what about laudrup and gazza :boohoo: larsson no doubt a great footballer, but i wouldnt say the finest for the last 20 years, no way.

Fantastic player, plus his return to his hometown team is a really admirable thing, especially since he's not a has-been yet.

and you support who? :kader:

laudrup WAS indeed an excellent player. gazza, no thanks. a woman beater who had to illegally block opponents with his arm because he had lost any pace he had.

i would also say the difference is very marked when you consider that celtic went on extended european runs with larsson in their side. rangers, who at the time were on a 9 in a row run in the scottish league, with laudrup and mr gascoigne, repeatedly failed miserably in europe.
