on some stadiums there are flickering issues with some textures. any idea why and how to fix this with blender or you have just to edit the .rx3 texture files?

Daniel

I guess it's because of overlapping meshes. I fix this in Rhino 3d before importing it in blender for baking. In blender you can delete one of the overlapped meshes by switching in edit mode, right click to select the mesh and press delete -> delete faces. But be careful to select only one of the overlapping meshes.
Warning: There is a possibility that the two meshes have opposite face directions. If so, then you have to determine which one has the right direction. If you delete mesh with direction facing the pitch then the object will have the other mesh with wrong direction and won't be visible in game.

Sounds so complicated mate. If I centralize a list of stadiums with issues, upload them, describe the issue you are willing to fix them? Some of those stadiums are so great, it's such a shame. There probably 10-15 stadiums in this situation.

Sorry, I already said I don't have time for this. I can try to make a video, but I usually use another program to fix those things. In blender I delete only single meshes I don't need in game. Which are the stadiums anyway? Maybe I can find some that is in my "to do list"?

I've got it! The flickering issue comes from the lack of space on the texture. In blender select the damaged part, go to edit mode and press W =>remove doubles. Then delete the map1 layer, make it again from map0, unpack it and bake.

If you don't have any doubles just split the part to smaller ones.

By "remove doubles" you mean this way it removes one of the overlapping meshes?

Yes. You have to have all the meshes selected to perform this operation.

Thanks that's very helpful. But what if the doubled meshes have opposite face direction? Do the "remove doubles" function deletes the right one?

gonzaga my friend, here are a couple of stadiums (the best versions available on web) with some small issues. below you can find the description of each one. if you want it will be excellent to be fixed. of course if other skilled stadium makers want to participate are more than welcomed!!!

1. ENG - Blackburn Rovers - Ewood Park - superb stadium but the night mode have bad lighting (I guess it replicates the day mode)

2. GER - VfB Stuttgart - Mercedes-Benz Arena - excellent stadium made by martinza & nisoley (fifaplanet) but it has some issues with flickering textures (especially in the stands behind the nets & at away fans); also in the middle of the pitch there are also some lighting problems - pinkish light.

3. ITA - Torino F.C. - Stadio Olimpico di Torino - superb stadium but the it has lighting problems in night & day modes - that green light on some parts of the pitch

4. GER - FC Augsburg - SGL Arena Augsburg - superb stadium with some small texture flicking problems (near the left corner flag from camera point of view)

5. ITA - Genoa & Sampdoria - Stadio Luigi Ferraris - fabulous stadium but without banners / flags - it would be great to add some!

6. ITA - U.S. Citta di Palermo - Stadio Renzo Barbera - this model has an incredible realistic model. it will be fantastic to add some extra banners/flags & stadium dressing.

please if you have time, help the community with these updates!

Thanks! I thought that there are stadiums not made for FIFA so far. But I think Olimpico Torino, Ewood Park and Luigi Ferraris are made from scratch and they look great. No need to fix anything. The rest maybe need to be updated, but not me, sorry!

When the face has a wrong normal you can flip it choosing the edit mode, choose the wrong mesh (wireframe view is the best to do it) and go to mesh menu - normal - Flip normals
Cheeers!

One more question: is there a way to add new stadiums to the database without the need of replacing other ones AND without stadium server? I saw on the 14 forum, that we can add them via hex editor but can this be still used on 16 and did anybody decoded the file?

Unfortunately not. Only three ID's working correctly: 174, 177 and 225.

I want to duplicate a set of adboards from St James Park and then re-scale them. I've selected all original adboards components (shift + mouse click) then duplicate, rescale, save and export model+textures.

but when loading the game it crashes. any idea why? should I group the new created items, or what's wrong? below you can see how it looks in blender:

can someone help me with a tutorial how to append objects in blender (ex: adboards for a stadium).

i get confused when I have to pack into blender, make all paths relative/absolute etc ... I just don't get it to work.

game crashes after loading a stadium with different objects appended! I do something wrong!

:(

for example I've tried to append to EA's St James Park stadium some commercial carpets but it crashes when loading the stadium. I uploaded the blend file (my objects are: Alpha4, Alpha5 & Alpha6)

please help :(
