Did you consider taxes and most importantly international shipping/custom fees to Bangladesh?
I've already arranged $500 for those. Is that enough or it needs more?
you'll be perfectly fine with two gtx 970's and 4790k.. bear in mind compatibility is a different story, even the i3's would be compatible with your gpu's but it wont be sufficient in demanding applications..
about 120 hz.. well I've been playing video games before you were born.. I've only been into 144hz gaming for a few years and I've got one of the best monitors in business right now..
most people spend huge money on hardware and then use a mediocre monitor, you really dont want to do that.. if you have 60fps in your games and nothing more, then your framerate is limited to your monitor Hz to prevent tearing (whcih can be corrected by enabling v-sync, or g-sync recently).. you can easily get something like 100-110 fps with your setup even in the most demanding games like the forthcoming gta5 and battlefield 4...
144hz is more fluid, but I just cant explain this to you.. you have to live it.. if you want to live a similar experience with your current setup, watch 50fps football games or videos via sopcast or youtube.. normal videos you experience are usually 25 or 29 fps, and 50fps videos make a huge difference.. it will be the same story for gaming..
let me know how you feel about it after trying
Glad to know 970 is compatible and good to go.
But sadly, I can't spend money on monitor now. It will be a huge mistake. I would rather buy if its possible later. Which I guess wont be in next 3 years. None of this shit would happen only if the parts were available in Bangladesh.
Edit: About FPS thing, I know how it feels. Max FPS I got was 75 [I got 300 fps before but no use in 75hz monitor]. 75 is more smooth than 60. But to me now 60 is quite enough cause quite recently, I'm playing many games in 5-10 fps [Far cry 3 for example]
Then that's a very good deal or the price has gone down a lot because when I built my PC, a single gtx 770 was around 350 to 400 $.
Dude, maybe I'm dumb in hardware and knowing about parts and pricing. But not in gaming. You are saying, turning of v-sync would give me more FPS. But whats the point? Its still a 60Hz monitor and all you will see is 60FPS, other frames will be skipped on the monitor simply.
100-110 FPS on 120Hz monitor= still 10-20 frames missing. Some frames will be doubled on screen. Sometimes causes bad motion [Like 60 FPS on 75Hz seems like I'm playin 30 fps or worse. Really bad motion in the screen].
But you are saying that dual 970 is good to give 120 Fps? Or only in FIFA?
I'm not saying enabling v-sync will give you higher fps, it actually steals some fps.. and the hz thing on monitors is the max number of hz..
dude keep it simple.. I said go watch some 50 fps videos, then watch some normal videos over youtube.. gaming feels roughly like that.. but be aware 120-144 hz is a curse.. you just cant get back once you step in from that door..
So I guess I don't need to curse myself. And since the PC specs I'm planning won't be able to run games in 120 Fps (The games that will be released aftee 2-3 years, I find no reason to get used with 120 Fps. But thanks for the info. I've seen 60 fps videos long time ago and it rocks. Would be better if all the TV programmes/ movies were in 60 fps.
your pc will be able to run most games 100+ fps.. if you sacrifice from AA, which you wont need with a 1440p monitor, you'll hit more than 100 fps with 1440p and 120fps+ with 1080p on high settings..
Won't I still get jagged edges if anti aliasing is turned off? Anti aliasing never bothered me much though cause I never play with anti aliasing [Impossible with my laptop which will definitely causes lags]. Only way in 1080p having no jagged edges without anti aliasing is to have 6" monitor.
Anti aliasing isn't required in 1440p monitor? How it looks without AA?
What the Hell !!!!!
I can't believe this is happening. So what now!! Nvidia or ATi? SLI causes lags on old games? The more I dig, the worse it gets!
Edit: Another question; Windows 7 enough? I prefer Windows 7. I actually don't need Directx 12 but is there any possibility that future Ps4 gen games won't support Dx 11? Or I'm good to go with whole Ps4 gen? [Please don't recommend me to use windows 8 cause I hate it and hate it for a silly reason. I hate the logo of Win 8. But mostly it won't support Direct Draw, thats more worse]. And if its soo impossible with win 7, how about win 10? Does that support D Draw and similar with Windows 7 style ? Or its more like the touch screen style win 8?
you're worrying about nothing..
you can easily disable SLI config for old games via nvidia control center.. you can edit specific game profiles and save them..
also, since they're old they won't need a monster PC to run, which means your GTX970 will handle them easily..
you're getting some info, but not enough as it seems..
edit: it's also stupid hating Windows for a logo..
I know, did you see the second reason for hating Windows 8? It has a lot of problems with Direct Draw games. Terrible!! Windows 10 might worth a shot, but Windows 8 wont.
Glad to know 970 wont be a trouble.
The Windows 10 upgrade will be free if you already own 8, so it's a non-issue.
I see, thanks. But I'll actually take one which has better backward compability. Windows 7 can run most of the old games without any problems. Windows 8 has issues with Direct Draw. But if Windows 10 can run new and old games perfectly [Without having Direct Draw issue], then Windows 7 is toast. But if win 10 lacks backward compability, its peppered stick.
name two direct draw games that you enjoy playing....
Jazz Carlos Rabbit 2, Earthworm Jim. Even there is a quick fix for Jazz Rabbit 2, it just fix the 3 fps issue. But its still choppy.
The problem occurs when tripple buffer/ double buffer is enabled, aswell as vsync. But disabling these makes the game choppy. And there are many games too which needs Direct Draw. So windows 8 is out. Planning for Windows 7 or 10.
arent those dos games?
you can run them from an emulator called dosbox with almost no trouble at all.
