I need help making my gamepad to work properly

hello. i have a saitek rumble force p2500. i believe it is supported with fifa 10 but i'm having some problems. first off, every time i receive the ball, the player sprints automaticially even when i don't press sprint. secondly, i cannot create a button for standing tackle. by that i mean that everytime i click on it and select a key, the key for GK charge changes but not the standing tackle so it remains "no key". I checked the 'devdata' and got these configurations:

thanks man you truly are awesome but i am having just some slight problems. not to say this was bad actually this was great but it seems that everything has become the opposite of what it should be. for example, when i press up on my game pad, the player goes down. i looked at the dev.data you gave me so i could try fixing it myself but all it shows is stuff on rapidshare for some reason. and the trick stick doesn't work. if you can't fix this it's cool but if you can please reply. :33vff3o:thanks however:33vff3o:

*btw: aplologies but i made a slight mistake. i told you that team mentality should be 9 when in fact that button is 11. my two sticks are instead numbered 9 & 10. this might be the reason why the trick stick doesn't work. still thanks for your (Y)help(Y)

ok man just enter my fifa 10/controls reconfigure your gamepad in-game how you want it. press PrtScr button on the top right corner of your keyboard,start Paint(WinLogo+R then type mspaint),Ctrl+V,Save as,whatyouwant.jpg and send this image to me

or just when you have reconfigured your gamepad type the stuff here

btw is on the controls menu on the top of your screen typed "Cyborg Force Rumble Pad"

i want to edit my controls to the below config:

s -> pass/standing tackle
w -> through ball/keeper charge
a -> cross/second man press
d -> shoot/sliding tackle

my defence is cr*p coz 2 players start pressing the attacker when i press 'S'

alrite man these are configs i want. on the top it says "Saitek Cyborg Rumble Pad". the buttons are 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-*9-*10-*11. buttons 9 & 10 are both my sticks(left to right). button 11 is just a red button (apologies if i said otherwise before). do your thing man and once again i really appreciate your help.

It MUST say "Cyborg Force Rumble Pad" not "Saitek Cyborg Rumble Pad" i think you didn't replace the original file with the one i provided. ;)

i already made the devdata with this config so try again REPLACING the original one until it says "Cyborg Force Rumble Pad"

the operating system doesn't change anything

ah my apologies. anyways i replaced it again and still got "saitek cyborg rumble pad" which is wierd because in the control panel it says "cyborg force rumble pad". h/e the automatic sprinting problem has been fixed but everytime i press sprint the player just goes in the opposite direction. so ya i put it in documents/fifa 10/user and these are my findings. thanks for helping me out here and maybe we can find a solution:sKIp_E:

Something very strange is happening here :icon_spin:

First of all check your drivers, when you bought the gamepad was there a CD with drivers, if you haven't install them this is the time, then restart your PC.

then open registry editor (WinLogo+R then type regedit and press enter).Open the following key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\"

In the OEM key you will see many keys in the left side like me and only one will be openable(like on the picture)click on it once and on the right side will be key OEMName copy it's value and say it to me ;)

I'm new to the forum. I have tried playing the game, using my saitek p2500 gamepad, and i have problems similar to the other guy.

I think it's part of the game, but it doesn't seem right at all.. when i pass to a player, they automatically seem to control the ball a metre in front. I notice in game, my pad is supported, but this control thing can't be right, surely?

Assuming is isn't, how would i go about fixing this? In game, the pad doesn't come up as it's registry value. I remember once, i had NHL 06 and i had to strap the right stick-up with a rubber band to stop it conflicting. Any ideas mate?

Ok, I've found a fix for myself for Saitek p2500, it's a devdata file that you put in the user folder of fifa 10 in my documents. Sorted all of my probs control wise.

I want to thank you very much for providing that link. I downloaded the devdata.dat file from that thread (the one with 4 mirrors), and I put it into my game. In the past I have been using a Steel Series controller, and I manually programmed that controller correctly. However that controller broke yesterday and I bought two brand new logitech dual analog dual action controllers. And since the 1, 2, 3, and 4 face buttons are in a different position on the dual action as it was on the steel series, the same devdata.dat had the controls all wrong on my logitech. And I spent some time last night testing values but for some reason I couldn't get it right. Luckily, that devdata.dat solved the problem. That devdata.dat on that link apparently has the correct setup for the logitech dual action. (1-cross, 2-pass, 3-shoot, and 4-through pass) My old setup (which was correct on the steel series but wrong for the dual action) was 4-cross, 1-through pass, 2-shoot, and 3 pass.

Anyway, thanks for that link because for some reason I couldn't find my old devdata.dat that previously worked with a logitech dual action. many devdata.dat files i found on the internet did not have the right values for this controller, but that one on that thread did so thanks again. It seems to have all the buttons correct, with team mentality on the 9 button, 10 button for pause, and button 12, which is clicking-in the right analog stick does enable goalkeeper control. The right analog stick also appears to be configured correctly, although only further testing can verify this. So it does appear that the devdata.dat they have works.
